| Please Advise- Moxie seems sick Earlier today, Moxie was at the park and ate some nasty old food on the ground before I could stop her. She seemed fine but has been gassy and later had diarrhea. She has seemed mostly normal but just peed on my bed and was basically sitting right next to it until i noticed the smell. This is highly abnormal and worrisome. Is that a symptom of something? Should I observe her or take to vet? I don't know what what in that yucky food on the ground |

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | It could definitely be some sort of food poisoning if the food was rotting like that...which you'd really have to wait out. I would encourage her to drink water and give little bits of carb to help absorb any nauseous juices...like bread/crackers. How is she this morning...?

| Someone was poisoning dogs in the park close to my house....I would walk the entire area before I turned my dog loose in a dog park, just because I am terrified of the nefarious intentions of other people that do not like dogs or "dog parks".....it is just toooooooo easy for evil people to drop bits of anything that will make a dog sick or even kill them....and of course, dogs will "vacuum" up anything they find on the ground that is edible. Got a lot of crazy people out there that do horrible things to pets we adore and treasure..... |

| This morning she had a more solid poop and waited to pee until we went outside so that is really good. And she is acting more like her old crazy self. I just gave her a little bit of her freeze dried stella & chewy with some canned pumpkin, but will continue to keep food light for the next day or so. She has an iron stomach, so it must have been really nasty :/ And will definitely update if anything changes, but she seems to be ok. Such a survivor, this tiny 6lb dog! It's amazing how resiliant, tough, and fearless they are! And yes, it's awful that people would put things in a dog park to make dogs sick. It's hard for me to begin to understand how someone could do that. In this case, I live in SF, and there are a lot of drug addicts and homeless people who will leave their old food and whatever else in public parks and spaces. |
