| Elsy's sick again Poor little Elsy is sick again. She has a history of HGE and pancreatitis. She was sick about a month and and half ago vomiting blood tinged watery like mucus and had a large amt of bloody diarrhea. She couldn't keep meds down so we went to vet. She started feeling bad again yesterday. Wouldn't eat anything after 10am and just lying around so I started her meds but this morning she still wouldn't eat. She drank water but threw it up every time. Took her in and they gave her fluids and an injection of cerenia. She is better tonight. She gets stressed real easy but it also seems to occur a few days after she gets her sentinel. Has anyone else noticed any side effects after giving sentinel. Elsy weighs 5.4 lbs. |

| Try to feed him with fresh carrot! all you need to do is grind it and mix it to the food of your pup. |

| I agree, I would follow my instincts and opt for a different preventive. I personally like Heartgard for heartworms ... and used to use Advantage for fleas. Fortunately I never have issues with fleas and have not used anything in a few years. I would not use Trifexis or Comfortis. My vet recommends Nexguard now, but I read it can cause vomiting and diarrhea. You really should speak with your vet about options and try it for one month to see if it is the Sentinel. Sentinel can cause vomiting and diarrhea! They say it is rare, but that means it is highly possible that is the problem.

| Elsy's been on the Royal Cabin gastrointestinal low fat diet for years and that is all she gets. For a treat we give her a tiny spoonful of it from the can so she doesn't feel left out. She's still not feeling herself this morning but no diarrhea or vomiting. I'm going to call and make her an appt because he mentioned repeating her labs if she didn't bounce back fast. |

| Praying for Elsy. I'm glad she is improving and I pray she will recover fully quickly. Linda, does Cookie do okay with the Heartgard? I use it with my pups, but I was wondering if pancreatitis is a concern with the liver chewable -- for high risk dogs.

| Made another trip to vet for fluids and labs about 4 pm. Elsy is not vomiting and no diarrhea but not eating her food and very little boiled chicken. Will get results of labs in the morning because they were sent out. She finally did eat a little more tonight, and took her flagyl. Hopefully tomorrow will be better. Thanks for all the well wishes. |

| Elsy's labs were great. She's on the mend and has more prep in her step today. No tummy issues and she is eating better. I don't know if it's the sentinel but since this is not the first time getting sick after taking it I'm putting her back on heartgard. These little ones can get sick and go downhill fast so I am always trying to stay one step ahead especially with her with her history. Thanks again for all the well wishes. |
