So sorry there wasn't much improvement, Bones22. It is still early in the treatment though, so try to stay positive. Many dogs struggle for a week or more with pancreatitis before turning the corner. Sending prayers. Please update when you can.

Still not passing urine however is keeping two more days for fluids and meds. hopefully kidneys will function again.

Mercy....so sorry for you and this baby......dont give up yet....I have seen some pretty desperate cases turn around.....

Is this vet a specialist? What is the vet school by you? I would be burning up a trail to the vet school with this baby....they have all the most up to date equipment, vets, etc....if the baby has a good chance of turning this around, a good vet school is the answer.....

Never thought of vet school, Still in disbelief, praying that they can get kidneys functioning. Reside in Detroit area and are currently at cabin in northern Michigan. Our dog is at Clare Animal Hospital. As of Friday my tab will be 800 dollars, which i will gladly pay, however if no change Friday and my buddies health has not improved, it will be tough to continue. I will not let him suffer. We love him dearly but at some pt you have to let go. Please let kidneys return Friday. I really trust people currently caring for him.

Please don't give up hope. Praying that Friday shows improvement. I know you must be feeling very stressed and depressed now, but all that can be done is being done. All we can do is our best and pray your little one can fight this battle.

Any update on this? I actually had the exact same issue with my Yorkie last week but the vomiting wouldn't stop. Took her to the vet and she has tonsillitis, luckily the antibiotics have already kicked in and she's back to acting her old self.

Very sad,got call from vet that Harley not urinating and further was retaining fluids in lungs, gained almost a pound, further that was in some pain. I asked if there was anything we could do and he said dialysis maybe however he was not aware of anywhere in michigan. He could not tell me why this happened and only that it was something he ate and only guessed grapes or raisins. To think a week ago he was happy and crazy and great part of our family. i keep telling myself that i did the rt thing as he is truly in a better place. R I P Harley Boy

I am so very sorry for the devastating news about the loss of your baby Harley.
What a terrible shock, but you know all was done to save him, and that is all we humans can do for our pets. Having been through having to make this heartbreaking decision, I know how horrible it feels. But it is the only kind thing to do to relieve our babies of their pain and suffering.
My poor boy was older but seemed so healthy until he had what I thought was a mild stomach upset. When I took him to the vet I was shocked to hear he had pancreatitis and kidney failure. How could this happen??? I still wonder what I could have done to prevent this, but no answers come. He too was in the hospital being treated and hydrated but in three days he was so very very sick, we had to let him go. The symptoms in the end were too much to let continue.
So this will be hard for you to grasp and accept, and I really know how you must feel. You loved him and cared for him, but sadly this horrible affliction took him over. The pain will subside and one day you will have happy memories of the times he was with you for comfort. But it takes time and much grieving, and I feel for you.
Prayers for dear Harley and you and your family. May peace and acceptance come to you.
