| runt of the little concerns Hi everyone I have a litter of 6 yorkies born may 2nd. So they are 4 weeks old. I have concerns about 1 so I will start from the very beginning so that I can get some feedback from you guys and gals. Wyatt was the first baby born. When I checked in on him his head was a little different looking I couldn't place it. But he had a scab on Top of his head and I felt a large soft spot. Open fontella. He thrived but has stayed teeny By 2 weeks his head looked normal and he was very fiesty and a great eater. He is still very small. And seems to develop slower. He was the last to open his eyes and his coordination looks off. He rolls over when he tries to walk. But can still stumble to his point of destination. At 4 weeks his head has a slight indentation where he had the scab when he was born. His hair is a slightly wavy in that spot Thursday night when I checked on them he seems lethargic. I gave him some corn syrup and gave him some one on one time with his mommy for feedings and he perked up and was a great eater. When I went to handle him he cried like something was wrong but I couldn't figure it out and he whined a bit off and on for the night. I left him with his mom all night for more personal time. In the morning Friday he seemed lethargic again so I packed him up and took him to work with me. I fed him some milk replacement through out the day. He I Likes to be held and would whine if put down. Around 330 pm he started wailing like something was wrong..It stopped when driving home and then started again right before I got home. I live 40 mins from work. I put him in the crate with his mom and made him some soupy mush. He ate really good but was covered in it so I cleaned him up. But he cried off and on through the evening. This morning he is still eating could but his cry sounds a little different. More high pitched but not as nosiey. He hasn't cried for a while now been cuddled with his brothers sleeping. Maybe he is hoarse? I am assuming he is hypoglycemic but I don't now if I should be concerned with the whinning...just wanted to get wanted some jnput. He is my first runt in my whole 10 years or so of breeding. Thank you |

| With the open font and what you have described, I would be worried that something serious is going on like encephalitis. I don't want to scare you but I would bring him to a vet for an evaluation. I hope your baby is okay and please keep us posted. |

That high pitched cry can be indicative of a serious neurological issue That cry, coupled with all the other developmental delays/issues you describe, are not encouraging. I am praying for your little soul......please keep us posted. | |

I would honestly get to the vet ASAP, given these signs and symptoms. He could be in pain...and I don't think you'd want him suffering...?
