Doing great. We left the stitches in for the full two weeks and tomorrow morning I take her to get them out. I worry that as wiggly and squirmy as she is it will be tough to get them out of her without hurting her. I am going to ask for them to sedate her lightly before trying to take them out. Other than that she is acting like your normal, fearless 5 month old terrier. I have to save her from herself pretty much daily. |
That's awesome...I'm so glad she's doing so well.:) |
Yay!!! :animal36 What a blessing!!! Puppies are unbelievably strong!! |

So true! Stitches are out, puppy is taking her afternoon nap. All seems well in the world right now. How is your pup doing now? |
Praise the Lord! How exciting to have your little girl acting like a real Yorkie! I know what you mean saving her from herself. I do that all day long with my 5 month boy. Never been so glad to go to bed at night Ha! At least he sleeps very well. Give Bella love for me & Ruger. |
Forgot to mention yesterday that Bella is finally starting to pick up a little weight. After hovering around 2.2 pounds for almost a month, she tipped the scale yesterday at a whopping 3.1 pounds. I swear, it doesn't look like she has put on that much! She might have a realistic shot at making breed standard after all, something I would have bet against since we got her. I can finally run my hand down her back without feeling her spine and ribs poking out. Teapot club, here we come!! LOL |
So happy to hear that Bella is recovered, acting like a normal yorkie and gaining weight. I know it must be a huge relief. |

I'm so glad she's putting on weight😀 You should post new pics so we can see her new and improved self. |
Yes! Post pictures!!! :D |
If you insist... lol 1 Attachment(s) Sleepyhead is asleep in daddies hand right now, better pic when playtime starts in an hour or so. |
Toooo cute😀 I look forward to playtime pics! |
little bella is BELLA!! :p |
pics as promised 3 Attachment(s) The first is another shot of her conked out in my lap. You can sort of see the incision on her from her hoo hoo to her sternum. Then there are a couple of her in what her mom and I call her nekkid phase. After being in her onsie for almost two weeks, missing her regular combing daily and a couple of baths, she was pretty knotted up and we didn't want to try and yank all of it out. Result, big lion head, tiny chihuahua lookin' bod. |
