I have had both knees done at the same time and they recovered just as well as only having one done.

He also uses an epidural s for at least 8 hours of pain relief while the patch kicks in. He is wanting to do the second knee 4 weeks after the first, any thoughts on whether I should stretch the time in between surgeries?

It's is a very long recovery period so you might be better off getting both done at the same time.

Thanks for the replies, I have spoken to the vet and has said as long as I am confident with the recovery period he can do them together. Will think about it and do more research before I decide.

Your not having a vet do this right? It needs to be done by a board certified orthopedic specialist or you are setting up for a disaster.

Yes he is a specialist and only does surgery. He said 40% of his work is knees and has done 100's.
