| Hello. Thanks for the update, we here were concerned about your baby. Good to hear she is feeling better and behaving more like her old self. Did the vet you saw diagnose her illness, was it Pancreatitis? What was the treatment for whatever disease she had? If it was P then she has to be on a low fat diet to prevent another attack. The grade 4 luxating patella however is not such good news. I would think that she does have some pain, but I guess you have to depend on your vet for advice on this. Hoping she continues to feel well, and that her knees are stable and relatively pain free. I am sorry i cannot advise on meds for LP, but I am sure other here who have this experience will post. |

| When a dog has pancreatitis the best thing you can do is withhold food and water for 24 hours. It is usually caused by feeding them something they shouldn't have like greasy brisket, bacon, peanut butter, basically high fat foods. Here is a link to a good article on luxating patella that suggests vitamins that may help and also an exercise program. Grade 4 is the severest grade and she may need surgery if the pain becomes too much for her. Hopefully, the suggested vitamins and anti-inflammatory herbs will keep her out of pain.
