Wow what a nice touch for them to send you a picture! |
Do you have a stroller? Lady Jane has a rehab technique of using a stroller so the dog can go where you go and not feel left out of what is going on. You have to tether then in, however, so they have no opportunity to jump too much. |
dog Little Sully is so adorable. Lifts his cute head for his picture! I will pray for healing and that he will be home and able to relax. Yorkies are busy boys and he needs to have lots of rest. He is really a beautiful Yorkie, you are blessed and now he will get better! |
So glad Sully did well! |
Update. Sully is home, but I got to see what was under that blanket and it's not pretty. I started crying. He's hasn't eaten and I just tried to give him some food, but he wants nothing to do with it. Also, he's peeing on himself, I know he's upset about it cause he just whined a little and then I notice a wet spot under him. I've already done 2 washes of towels so I just had to run out to the store and get some wee pads to lay under him, it just keeps leaking out intermittently. I tried having him go out once with the sling to help him stand so he wouldn't fall, but its so damn cold here in New England and all this freaking snow and ice on the ground is not helping, so I really don't care if he pee's his bed. The other thing that he has is a Fentanyl Patch. Anyone have any experience with these? It has to stay on till Saturday. They are also doing Laser Treatment for pain and inflammation. He's had 2 treatments so far and is scheduled to have 6 more treatments. Anyone have any experience with this new treatment? |

Fentanyl is a fairly strong pain pill. It can make people very sleepy and relaxed. Could be the reason he is urinating on himself. But you don't want him to be in pain. Will send mega prayers your way! Glad he is home! |
Meant patch, not pill. :D |

Poor baby - breaks my heart to hear he's having so much pain and feeling so bad. I'm still praying for him. |
Update: this has been the longest week ever. Today I got to take off the fentanyl patch. His appetite isn't 100 percent, but thanks to Dot' s suggestions, I did get him to eat baby food from my finger. He ate a half a jar yesterday, throughout the day, a little at a time. Today is also the first day he drank from his water bowl. Up until then I've been using a syringe to get water in him. Right now he's laying on my lap and watching The Matrix with me. My other yorkie is right up against my other leg and seems content just to be near his big brother. Still no poop. |
After thought: I can't thank you all enough for being here on line. It really means a lot. Also, I'm so glad I took him to that place in NH (VESH). They have called me almost everyday to check on him AND me. I can call them anytime day or night and they always answer. Love them. |
dog Healing prayers for sully. It sounds like he is on the road to recovery. Poor fella I love his picture he is so cute. Glad you have a great vet who cares about him. Keep us updated on his progress. With his little fighter spirit I know he will get better soon. Yorkies is can be tough little terriers. |
What an intense week for you guys! I am glad your little man is home and healing  our hearts go our to you |
