| Yes, Paris is horrific, but that does not take away your stress right now over your baby girl. I will definitely keep her in my thoughts and prayers...and you as well. Thank you for letting us know...she is a lucky girl to have such a caring family. Looking forward to a successful surgery update!

| I just wrote an somewhat coherent post, but it got lost in cyberspace. I can't go through it all again, but this is the gist. Surgery yesterday, Millie died about 2 hours ago, can't sleep, a million questions, heart broken. Just needed to put it out to the people who would get it. Thanks for being those people.

| I am sitting here and sobbing. I am so very sorry. What can I say? When they leave us, it is so hard. My thoughts and prayers are with you for healing. Know that I am thinking of you. I send you light and love. Shellie |

| Thank you for the kind words and thoughts. Yesterday was truly horrible. My husband and I went to say goodbye to our little sweetie for the last time and were able to hold her and tell her how special she was to us. It was hard, but I needed to see her to process that she was truly gone. We just had been so sure that she would be okay after her surgery. The surgeon told us about several things that could have happened. One that stuck is that a microscopic bleed could have been one cause of her death. The surgeon was nearly as distressed as we were, but incredibly respectful of our need to mourn little Millie. It was obvious that her remains had been treated with kindness. There were even flowers on the box in which she had been placed. I do not regret the time we had with Millie. She was the most even-tempered, sweet-natured dog I have ever known and there will always be a special spot in our hearts for this precious girl. I am glad that we had the resources at the times that she needed care and that we live an area with abundant 24 hour care from professionals who did not want her to be in pain. Thanks again for being listeners and carers. Journeys are easier with fellow travelers.

My heart hurts for you. I also had high hopes for Millie .. I am sure everyone did. We just don't have control over some things and they just don't seem real sometimes...I suppose one day we will have answers about why...I have asked that question so many times. ![]() I wish there were words to make it better, but I know that only time does...and that is only better. And, we each must grieve at our own pace. We never, ever forget. These sweeties take a piece of our hearts with them. Peace to you and your husband....she truly was a lucky pup to have a family that loved her so much to go through what you did for her.
