Jazmyne at floss Little stinker ate about a foot of waxed dental floss. I tried to gove her 1/2 teaspoon of peroxide and she's not throwing up. Been over 10 mins. She just wants to play. She's chasing her ball as we speak. I am on vacation with her and my vet is over 2000 miles away. The closet vet that is open is over 2 hours away. Anything else I can do?

| I would feed her and then induce vomiting. Sometimes you have to give the peroxide a couple of times.

Thank you. I gave her half teaspoon right away then 1/2 teaspoon 20 mins later. Just gave her another 1/2 teaspoon now, which was 30 mins. According to my vet that if the 3rd time doesn't work then find a vet or hope it will pass. I am a little lost.

Well over an hour later. Been playing with her. Took for 3 walks. No vomitting. This dog must have one solid stomach. I hope it passes. The vet said it won't kill her, if it gets wrapped it will be uncomfortable and surgery will be required. We are driving back from Florida to Winnipeg tomorrow. 2.5 days in a car. I hope she'll be ok. I will update if something happens.

I remember when a member on here (I THINK it was on here), lost their little dog when string she had eaten, got tangled around the esophagus (??? have no idea how!!) and the pup required emergency surgery and did not survive! I think I got that story right.....someone else correct me if I am wrong, by all means!!! Just watch your baby very closely....any "strange" behavior, get to an ER vet ! Keep us updated!

I will. Problem there isn't one open around where I am. Been looking for an emergency vet but can't seem to find one. Still looking. EDIT: Found one. Got the number on speed dial. Last edited by dcapper; 02-05-2015 at 05:13 PM.

Just got home. 3 days of driving. Jazmyne was great. Eating and doing her business but never found floss. I'm starting to wonder if she even ate some. I might have thrown it in the garbage but forgot. Either way, I'm quite happy.
