| 9 year old yorkie has me worried! Hi guy's i'm new to this site! I rehomed a 9 year old male Yorkie in April 2014 and he is a rather awesome dude who I think was treated bad in his last home. Anyway since I've had him i've noticed strange things about him that might just be how he was brought up, specially his mood changes, he has patches of being very depressed and doesn't eat for day's sometimes, when he is depressed it's a struggle to get him to even move and you can't force him because he will snap (he's a very bitey and snappy dog) and he tends to shake a lot too. Yesterday morning he vomited and didn't eat anything all day or night, and today woke up to more vomit and he still hasn't eaten anything, he did have a few licks of water though, and again he is on the sofa today under his blanket and still refuses to move, i'm worried about him not eating and vomiting if anyone knows what may be wrong? if he doesn't get any better by tomorrow he will go to the vets but i was just wondering if anyone else has had similar problems. |

| He could have a gastrointestinal issue and should see a vet. Today if possible.

| I am NOT telling anyone to do this, just saying what I have always done....I have had several yorkies all now past, I now have a lil 3y/o adopted boy. You know your dogs eating habits. I am a grab dog, run to vet person when they are not acting normal. My pups are feed at 7AM, again at 5PM. If the dog did not eat for one day the next day I go out and buy boneless chicken cutlets. (All my pups LOVE chicken cutlets as most babies do) I will cook the chicken and put it in their bowl. If they refuse to eat the chicken I know there is something wrong, and off to ER we go. I wait no longer then one day of them not eating. 2nd day they if they refuse it's a ER vet visit. This is what I do. If your pup has not eaten in a day or 2 get him to the vet ASAP.

| I would say that BOTH these pups need to see a vet ASAP. It could be nothing but Anal Glands but could also be Gastro. Either way a Vet can check them out & get to the bottom of the problem. Gastro issues can end up in death & Anal Gland issues are very painful & not taken care of in a timely manner can end in rupture. |

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | I would really get to a vet asap, as there is something most definitely wrong with this kiddo. When dogs have no appetite, it's for a reason - and almost never from depression. With all this vomiting, it's clear there is a health issue really going on here.
