| My pleasure. Sometimes it is honestly less expensive in the long run to go to a specialist. They narrow things down faster. The upfront exam fee is a lot but you are paying for experience and it is SO worth it! Please let us know how Kaci is doing.

| You might also look into the University of Texas. They have an outstanding vet school there and they are the ones who will have access to all of the cutting edge technology that it sounds like a case like this one would need. When we found out our furbaby had a liver shunt, the University of Florida was a perfect choice and they did it for a reasonable amount of money vs. other vets we spoke to.

| Oh Wow.. I know that sinking feeling when a vet delivers that kind of news. The specialists Ladyjane listed are definitely the way to go! The pancreatitus is the worst. It killed my best friends yorkie in 48 hours( from the time he started vomiting). So PLEASE PLEASE!!! make the appt. ASAP. So yes PLEASE donlt wait. Hopefully you have already gotten her to someone who can help her. My heart goes out to both of you and prayers as well. I hope they can help her. Let us know please.

A&M is not close to her and, while I do like A&M, I have a facility here that is one of the best in the country. The prices are actually very close...I don't find that A&M is inexpensive at all.....and they don't accept Care Credit. The only option you have with them is a six month low interest plan. That's great that you had success at the University of Florida!

| [QUOTE=Buster Brown;4503641]So sorry to read the sad news. Sending prayers for your baby. We gave our Cat SubQ fluids and it helped.[/QUOTE I'm so sorry, I am going through the same thing, My Abigail was diagnosed in September, but is now getting worse. I went to vet yesterday with her and learned how to give her fluid once a day. It is not hard and I know it will help her. My baby girl is not eating as well, She doesn't like the RX food. So I am going to start making her some home made renal food. I will pray for your baby as well as mine. Thanks Dana |

| Kidney Failure My little girl is 13.8 years and recently diagnosed with heart murmur, kidney disease, she has a collapsing trachea, and totally deaf, but she is my "the love of my life" I have had many dogs, she is my first Yorkie. I rescued her from a bad home at 5 weeks. Until recently, she was my shadow, now she sleeps most of the time. Zoey wont eat the Hills k/d food and I tried chicken and rice, she pushes that away too. Tried the Primal freeze dried, she ate for one day. I am asking for help in food nutrition for her. Most of the internet diets are for large dogs. Help in any fashion will be greatly appreciated. Thank you, Sheryl |

Also, ask you vet about Mirtazapine. It helps with the nausea and also increases their appetitie. Does not always work, but when it does , it is amazing. Best wishes...so sorry your girl is so sick. Please keep us posted.

| Could you please send me the book info. My back is againist the wall, and I plan to come out fighting to save my Zoey. I realize she is almost 14, but she was in good health until this onslaught to her body. I will do what is necessary to make her feel better, and hopefully eat. Thank you

YT 2000 Club Member | dog I have to share this. My spud had kidney disease. My friend and I kept praying for him. Vet did sub q was on hills rx diet. He was going downhill. I dug his hole in the backyard kept praying an decided to let him eat the other yokes food wellness petite casserole chicken green beans and carrot. This food is low protein low fat and is all he needs. A miracle spud ate that and got better. He is eating it and camping with us in bishop. Prayer is powerful and this food works. Hope this helps you. My prayers for you. |
