Do you think that it would be less stressful and better if both Eddie and Jillie were strapped in the back seat so that they can not get tangled up with one another? (one on either side of the car) |

Great "heads up" discussion. I use a car seat for Cali. I have found the the tether I made that goes around the headrest on the seat instead of the one that is attached to the dog carseat works best. Seems like the one hooked to the head rest is up higher and she does not get tangled up in when she moved around on longer trips. Glad Eddie is better! |
I am so glad Eddie is better. I recommend crates for all car travel, and yes the crates have to be tethered or strapped down. I have a hard-sider crate for Razzle, and the wire crates for the big dogs. In our recent car accident, all dogs came through it better than myself. A slight shifting of crates but then the tethering clamped on and all was well. Just as a side note, dogs should be in their crates, without leashes as they can get tangled up etc. Which means training them, so that when you open the crate door, they wait to have their leashes put on..... |
