4 Attachment(s) Lily Rose started the hyperbaric chamber treatments today! She is walking around more and even went outside in the afternoon for a potty break! :) The vet is pleased by her progress. Her vitals are stable and her blood work continues to improve! Posting some pics they took for me today. Sorry, they are a bit blurry. The skin on her back as you can see is still an issue...we are hoping this will scab over and fall off. It is not a great area to have a wound. I am going to try to get there tomorrow to visit with her. Attachment 401213 Attachment 401214 Attachment 401215 Attachment 401216 |
Oh my God, my heart is breaking for this poor little one! It's so much easier to see her injuries since they shaved her. I was looking at her, imagining my sweet Phoebe going through that and it made me sick! I'm so very happy to hear that she's doing better & walking around a bit. Lily Rose will be in my prayers. |
Aww, such a tough time for this little girl. Glad she has so many taking care of her. Quick question... what is a hyperbaric chamber and what does it do? (I am probably the on YT person that does not know this!) |

PetsMatter | Hyperbaric oxygen therapy for pets We are so lucky to have access to this right here in Houston. |
I hope your visit goes well today! So glad to hear that she was able to go for a short walk yesterday! I wish I had been in the right place at the right time so I could have seen her and told her how beautiful she is. |
Our hospital has 3 hyperbaric chambers (for humans) and we have seen some very good results in treating patients with pressure ulcers, surgical wounds and diabetic wounds. What a great thing for vetinary hospital to be able to have. I don't know anything about vetinary medicine but we use a lot of Santyl ointment with and without hyperbaric to debride necrotic wounds and speed up healing. She is a beautiful little girl and I hope she finds the life and love she so deserves. I am glad to see she is doing better. Thank you for the updates. |

So glad to hear she's improving. I was at GCVS yesterday and would loved to have seen her. She really is a fighter. Barking is a good sign! |
Poor sweet girl. I've been following this on your Rescue FB page. So terrible sad. I am glad she is doing so well. Really makes you hate some humans who really seem to be the 'animals' |
Those pictures just make me want to cry! Poor little furbaby. I am so happy they are doing everything possible. I just want to hug her and give her kisses to let her know she is safe and loved. I pray she continues to improve every day. |

Update 3 Attachment(s) I visited with Lily Rose yesterday and was amazed with her progress. I was able to observe in the OR and her wounds are definitely improving quickly, no doubt from the cold laser treatments and the hyperbaric treatments. The deepest wound, pictured below, now has blood flow and will not need any further debridement. It may be closed up in the next couple of days, perhaps even tomorrow! The area of concern on her back end is starting to improve. There is still some questionable tissue up on her back, but that will not be as invasive or difficult to heal if she loses any. Her vital signs are stable, she is eating and she barks for attention and to go for a walk! She looks groggy in her one picture with her toy that I took, Lambchop, because she had just come back from surgery! They are hopeful that she may be able to leave the hospital next Tuesday or Wednesday! Attachment 401249 Attachment 401250 Attachment 401251 |
Oh my goodness -- what a little angel. Hoping she returns home soon. |
Nice, clean looking surgical wound! I still cant believe someone let this happened to her or that someone is not out there desperately searching for her. It just breaks my heart. I wish I were closer so I could hold her and tell her what a good job she is doing healing and how every one (hospital, YHR and YT) is pulling for her. |

Yes, it is awful ... I have a feeling her owner is the one who turned her in after she got so very sick. Very sad. Just like Summer, I will find a perfect home for this precious girl where something like this will never happen again. |
Oh, yay, more good news :)! That wound looks nice and clean, it really does! So happy to see these pics. Lots of puppy kisses for little Lily Rose! |

Update! 4 Attachment(s) More good news! They were able to close the one large wound today....it has a drain in it that they believe will be removed in 3 or 4 days. She will continue the treatments in the hyperbaric chamber over the weekend. They believe she may be well enough to be discharged on Tuesday or Wednesday! Lily Rose is true to her breed....a very tough and determined little one! Oh, and we hear she has all the techs wrapped around her little paw....she has them taking turns holding her. Love the care these babies get at Gulf Coast Veterinary Specialists !! Pics of the HBOT (hyperbaric oxygen therapy) and Lily Rose from today! Oh my goodness, I am so happy to hear she is doing so well. She looks like such a sweetheart! She is a trooper! |
:yay_jump::cheer: Way to go, Lily Rose, so glad to hear this. She looks like a little darling. |
So good to hear! |
What a difference a week makes. She looks like she is on the road to recovery. |
Wow! That is amazing. Even with all those wounds and you know she's in crazy pain, she still gets up and wants to walk and play. What a trooper! |
What a sweet little face. I would love to have her and love on her all day. She deserves a pampered rest of her life. |
