Oh no! I logged on hoping for good news for Lily Rose. I'm so sad this little one is going through this, thank God she was found by YorkieHaven! I know she's getting the best care possible. I'll continue to pray for this sweet little girl. |
Hoping for good news about this little girl. |
Poor little girl. I am praying for Lily Rose to heal, be free from pain, and to get better so that she can know what it's like to feel carefree, safe, and adored. |
I am a bit more hopeful tonight after speaking with the specialist. Lily Rose's ultrasound did not show any major internal injuries. Apparently the liver is simply inflammed from all of the infection in her little body. She did eat tonight, so she is a fighter...that will bode well for her. Many of you will remember Summer....she was like that, too! These little ones have so much stamina. Anyway....she had a surgical consult and they are planning on debridement of two of her wounds tomorrow...one over the sacrum and one on the left flank. In dog bite injuries, what you see is only the tip of the iceberg. They won't know how invasive this is until they are in there, but they have a feeling it will be pretty severe. So, she will more than likely have open wounds that will be packed and cleaned daily until the infection is clear and there is enough skin to close them up. This is exactly what Summer went through. This is going to be a long haul, but it looks more promising. I will update tomorrow when I know more. Thank you for all of the prayers and donations! |
OMG the poor baby, my heart aches for her. Prayers for Lily Rose on a speedy and full recovery <3 <3 |

Any bit of good news is wonderful, and a step in the right direction. Praying that day by day this precious girl will heal and will know that she is loved. |
I feel so bad for Lily Rose. Such extensive injuries, but such a fighter. Sending healing prayers her way. |

I'm so happy to hear this news. I know with you beside her and where she is. She is in the best hands a sick Yorkie could ever hope for. |
Summer immediately came to mind when I first read about Lily Rose. I am very happy to hear the positive news. Praying Lily Rose will follow Summer's remarkable recovery. Thank you and all of the people who donated for this little one's care. |
Thanks so much for the email alerting to Lily Rose. I donated to her care after reading about this sweet little one. If you possibly can donate please go to Yorkie Haven Rescue. Summer who was also cared for by YHR is still in my memory and I still have a picture of her that hung on my refrigerator for a long time. Again, thanks for the email. I don't come onto this part of the forum much because although I am a nurse, wound care specialist, I am one of the biggest cry babies around. Praying for Lilly Rose's recovery and the wonderful group at Yorkie Haven Rescue. |

Update! Lily Rose had surgery today and it went well. She also ate afterwards which they are thrilled about. She is underweight and needs the nutrition. They used a cold laser on her and have plans to use the hyperbaric chamber in perhaps a few days. One wound they were able to debride and close up. The other is a bit more extensive and it is open with wet to dry dressing. Tomorrow they will anesthetize her again for a bandage change. The next day they will evaluate where they are. She has some muscle involvement but it was not necrotic yet...they are hoping it will turn around and start to heal. There are also issues with the skin around her tail, anus and also her vulva....it is a difficult area to heal and they are hoping they won't have to debride. Just not a great area for such things. So....still wary, but hopeful! So many people have donated and prayed for this baby. The response has been unbelievable. Kind of helps to make up for the feelings we have about people who let this kind of stuff happen to these innocent babies. Thank you everyone...you all are amazing! |
So happy the surgery went well. Im keeping Lilly Rose in my prayers. |
Sounding positive and appreciate the update. |
I come on here hoping for an update on Lilly Rose but when I see Lady Jane post something I am half way scared to read it. I didn't read this post for a few days because I knew it was serious by the title and I am also a cry baby. Lady Jane and all the volunteers at Yorkie Haven Rescue must have a special place in heaven. Come on Lilly Rose....you can do this....be strong. |

YT prayers are working!! :) I received a good report this morning. Lily Rose is eating and actually gained 1/2 pound! Her vitals are stable. They are going to stop the fluids for about an hour today and if her B/P holds steady, they will start the hyperbaric chamber! This morning she will have to be anesthetized for a bandage change. So, that is her schedule for the day. Will update as I know more. |
Wonderful news! Still praying for Lily Rose. |
Praying for this baby girl. Donated for her. These bills are huge as we all know and every dollar counts. Thank you LJ for doing what you do. |
