| Hair Loss on an entire patch!! Hi guys! please help me. I noticed a patch (circular form) on the shoulder of my yorkie and all of the hair has fallen on that area! The affected area of the skin is a little bit redish with blemishes and it is in a circular form. Does anyone here experienced this on their yorkie? What could this be?? I'm so worried. Though he has not experience appetite loss and he still is very energetic. Any ideas guys on what this could be? Thanks!

| Sounds like it could possibly be ringworm. Lyme Disease is another possibility, although I don't know if Lyme is prevalent in your part of the world. I would take her to see a doctor as soon as possible.

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | I'd get a culture done asap for ringworm as its contagious to humans. It'll take about 10-14 days for a culture to be grown out.

| I have seen this a few times over the years and it was injection related. The rabies shot often causes this. The skin is fine....the hair comes out in a circular area. BUT...you should take him to the vet to find out for sure what it is.

| I already had him checked by a vet and did some tests. Turned out to be a demodectic mange or so called puppy mange caused by a microscopic mite he is currently prescribed to a weekly shot of ivomec and twice a week bath of medicated shampoo.

| I saw your other thread and I'm glad you have a diagnosis and treatment plan. Best wishes to your little guy for the treatments to work as quickly as possible.
