Gizmo threw up.... :( Gizmo threw up this morning after he woke up. It wasn't a lot I was able to catch most of it in my hand. It was yellowish and slimy. He didn't eat anything out of the ordinary at least while I was home. He did rip off a little of his pee pad but it was clean. Any ideas. He seems fine right now he's playing and ate some food. I'll be staying home with him to make sure he's okay. He just went poop and it's really dark.

if it was foamy looking with no food chunks in it, it was probably bile. Lexi did that a couple times in the morning when she ate an early dinner the night before or skipped dinner. After getting some food in her she was fine.

Agree with the members above. It sounds like empty tummy issue. You can try feeding her later at night or provide a small snack before bedtime. If you don't see/notice any other signs of him being ill (like lethargy, diarrhea, etc), he should be okay.

He ate his normal dinner and some kibble before bed as usual. We are at the vet's and his gums are very dry and a lot of noise in his stomach. He said that is a sign of an upset stomach. He ate this morning after he threw up and drank water. His poop was very black and hard. His poop last night was normal and brown. They are giving him fluids and are doing blood work.

Gizmo's blood work came back fine. His kidneys and liver are fine! He has calcium oxalate crystals in his urine so he will be eating Royal Canine Urinary SO for two months and will be retested. They gave him a injection of Famotidine which has made him sleepy all day. I called the vet because he is started shaking like he's cold and he said it could be low sugar since he hasn't eaten anything since we got home. He doesn't want to eat and that is one of the side effects of the medication. Boyfriend went to get chicken both and I will get it down his throat no matter what! All he does is lay next to me, dozes off and looks at me with those big sad eyes. I hate seeing him like this. I look at him and cry. The vet said if he is still the same in the morning to call him, but he feels he will be back to normal tonight, I hope so. Oh yeah, his poop... they took a sample and it's back to normal brown, strange, but I guess good. Thank you for your responses. I really, really appreciate it.

Maybe a little Nutracal? I'm afraid to recommend anything without you consulting with a vet, I just don't want to see the poor baby having hypoglycemia either...I know you will take good care and watch him tonight, I'm so glad you acted quickly and did the right thing instead of waiting....YOU ARE A GREAT MOMMA!!! Please keep us posted....

Gizmo is still not eating and is shaking off and on as if he is cold. The vet said since everything came back it could be low sugar since he hasn't eaten. He drank a little chicken broth and a tiny bit of water. I hope it's nothing more than that, I will be watching him like a hawk tonight.
