Linda, thank you for sharing your little Prince George with all of us. He was such a lucky little guy to have been loved and cared for by you and it is obvious he took a chunk of your heart with him. My heart aches for you at this very sad time of loss.

I have not posted since my original post. It's hard to sneak in here while at work. When I do get to, I read all of your post and tears start flowing. I feel so lucky to have found this place. All of you and most importantly Linda. I also have the privilege of living 30 minutes from Linda and her babies. I got to meet all of them when I picked up my Piper Girl from her. This is a most wonderful woman. The love she shows for her babies is amazing. If everyone were to love their babies as much as Linda loves hers. There would be no need for rescues of any kind.
Linda, you and all of your babies are in my prayers. You are a very special person, and I am so lucky to have met you.

I have read this off and on and have not ignored anyone...I was just in so much pain that I simply could not post much anywhere. I knew this day would come, but you know, we are never ready for it no matter how much we know it is coming.

I had planned to get a portrait done of George in November but he got a horrible hair cut so I put it off. I did a mini session with him myself in February. I kept planning to meet with the photographer but life got in the way of that. So, I only have the ones I took which will have to do. I ordered a large one yesterday....and some others. Here are two of my favorites.

Seeing the photos of George make me smile through tears. He looked so comfy on his cloud 9 bed and very content. But in this time of sadness, I'm so glad your little Kiche is feeling better. I know how hard it is when they're sick. Praying he stays well!

I so loved my sweet George...he was my little prince. I knew what I had to do, but it was so painful for me. I did it for George...it was what he deserved. I wanted him to leave before it turned even worse as it was going to. He did know I was there...I got two little licks on my nose in spite of him being so sick and weak....and I had the time I needed with him. He laid in my arms and had belly rubs until he passed on to meet his best buddy, Cody, and all of the other pups that he knew and helped me save who had passed before him.

My heart breaks for you, Linda, and I wish there was some way to take away some of your pain. Thank heavens for Valerie. You both are in my thoughts and prayers.

That is what Linda is made of. I've seen her take these dogs that have been mangled, abused, neglected and just no longer wanted and fiercely protect them. She finds homes for them and sometimes (more often than not) has to foster them indefinitely. Her medical bills for these babies are astronomical because she takes the "broken" ones, the elderly and the ones nobody else wants....some of you all think she is tough, she has to be tough to do this every day. I saw Linda not so tough yesterday as she held George and made the hard decision to let him go. She held him so gently and stroked him, loved him and kissed him; he could no longer hear or see, but he knew...he knew he was in Linda's arms where he had always been safe. He knew that once again, she would make sure that he was safe - and she did. God bless you Linda, for all you do for these little ones.....

My Georgie is back home with me. I picked him up yesterday.

I just came upon this thread now, and I am just heartbroken for you Linda. So sorry to hear about Georgie. You gave him a really good life, and he knew he was very much loved. My thoughts are with you. So sorry for your loss. There are many babies (including mine) at Rainbow Bridge to welcome your sweet baby boy. Just take one day at a time.
