| Yorkie Lymphangectascia Hello Friends, I felt compelled to send this out to all of our friends. It has been 9 months since the vet specialist said put Kipper down. Kip is about 10 and in 2010 diagnosed with Lmphangectascia. For 3 years in and out of emergency rooms and transfusions of protein supplements, Kip and I are happy to say all is now well. Kip looks great, feels great, and I'm estatic. We began putting Primal Defense Powder on all his food several times a day. Garden of Life has this product. It looks like dirt but it is probiotics. Evidently, I could have saved thousands of dollars and helped Kip right away, but that's why I'm writing this to help someone else. Please use the scoop and put on generously on food. Two months ago, I started Kip on a Bioage product which is a superfood. Bioage.com has the pet formulas. I cannot believe my eyes. Kip's coat is reverting back to the darker color when he was a puppy. I give him 2 a day sprinkled on his food. Wait till you read about that product for pets. I just know someone will find these notes and read if their beloved pet has this disease. Please email me, I will give you any information that will help you. Thanks, Appleladyj@yahoo.com |

| I am always happy to hear another lymphangectasia success story. My Cookie was diagnosed in December 2011 and she also is doing very well. She has IBD and lymphangectasia and is managed by diet. I home cook under the guidance of a board certified vet nutritionist. She was taken off of prednisone this past year and her albumin level has been holding steady. Here is the thread from when she was first diagnosed: http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/sic...ia-update.html So happy that you have found what works for Kip!

| Is there a protein powder that can be given for PLE? I am cooking Sophia and egg white every day but she could probably use more protein. |

| You really should not try to make a diet up by yourself. This illness is one that requires a totally balanced and correct diet. You don't give more protein because they are losing it...that is not the answer. I strongly suggest that, if you plan to homecook, you do a consult with a vet nutritionist. You can find one at: American College of Veterinary Nutrition OR, give your pup dog food approved for this illness. Good luck!

Hi Cindy, I cook Quinoi, Bison, organic veggies for my Yorkies. Please check out the Primal Defense powder from Garden of Life for this disease. I give Kip a scoop everytime I feed him. No vets now for a year. That disease is dreadful and I had Kip in and out of the hospital for 3 years. We haven't seen a vet now in a year. Please dont spare the Primal get it into his bowels good. I also give him Bio preparation for pets. See goldenappleorganics.com to get any of these products. The Bio prep is a green superfood. Kips coat went from gray to dark once again. He looks and acts 10 years younger. As far as protein, egg whites are no nutrion, but do help to get the protein. What does he eat now? what is the diet? I hear white fish is a great protein too. Let me know if you need some more info. appleladyj@yahoo.com | |
