| Well they took Dusty to the specialist but apparently new bone has already started growing so they don't feel surgery is the right thing to do now. They think the injury is too old so they are going to try cage rest and rehab. Luckily another volunteer works with broken dogs a lot said she would foster. Keep your fingers crossed, maybe he can heal on his own, his bones will never be normal but he can live a normal life hopefully.

| Oh my.... I don't know about this. There is a surgeon down here who is very highly skilled with these old injuries. I have a pup here who I adopted ... he had an old fracture and was repaired and is now fine. I have seen plenty of these done down here. Lone Star Shih Tsu just did one with two broken front legs...they had to be rebroken and then repaired. Same surgeon I use. If you are interested, I can give you his name and perhaps your ortho specialist could consult with him. Always good to get a second opinion. PM me if you think you might be interested...
