| ![]() A good vet would NOT be recommending euthanasia if he/she felt there was any hope for giving an animal a quality life. If you have faith in your veterinarian's judgement, the kind thing is to put Jake down. Some on here will disagree with me, but I worry for the animals that, though hopelessly flawed, are kept alive but miserable, in hopes that some experimental longshot will help.

| ![]() OP if you're still out there, please come back and read this thread. I have a feeling your pup may be misdiagnosed or not treated for his seizures correctly. We just had a case similar to this a few months back. I picked up a pup from the shelter that the shelter vets labeled as an aggressive dog. There was a tail amputation and 3 foster homes later that we finally got her with someone that a) knew how to handle her and b) a vet diagnosed her and is now treating her correctly. She has since been adopted and as of the last I heard she was living a very happy life with her new family. You may need to see a specialist because outburst of violence can be the result of a seizure as seizures manifest themselves differently in different people.
