Bossypartgirl, I'm so glad your getting something in him. Even if you have to syringe it in. Hopefully he'll strt eating on his own but until then he will need all your help. Try and feed him something at regular intervals. I'm so glad so many are offering so many tips for you. Good luck. |

Let me also add this: When they play and run around this can also be an issue because of all the energy they use. You need to be sure to feed him every few house. He's jut adorable and tiny. You need yo be very vigilant and keep his glucose levels stable. When you offer him food make sure it's when he's more awake so he's more willing to eat. The first year can be a real battle and you need to stay very attuned to any signals he's having an issue. Always ere on the side of caution. |
that is one beautiful lil pup |
How about sprinkling his food with parmesan cheese? I've heard this entices them to at least try to eat. I'd give a canned food warmed up and add a little of the cheese on top. Offer it to him by hand , see if he'll take it. It's so discouraging when they won't eat, and you feel as though you've tried everything. Keep trying, he has to get food on a regular basis...hopefully he'll see it's not so bad and gobble it right down. I too have to say, he certainly isn't camera shy...adorable!!! |
