Also ask you vet on the nutrical you don't want his sugar to get to high either. Sweet things are not a substitute for food. We had to syringe feed my sister in laws puppy for about a week then she finally started lapping this out of a bowl. At 8 weeks she probably just has milk teeth and may not be able to chew kibble well yet. Praying for your puppy. Also make sure he is getting plenty of water. |

As someone mentioned before he really will need to be fed every 3 to 4 hours until he starts eating on his own. |
I just add some water and liquify my dog's food when he won't eat and put bits of it on my finger and put it in his mouth every so often as long as he's not eating and not vomiting. He spits some out but gets some down. Eventually, he begins to eat more and more. Moisten and warm up his food, make it smell good from microwaving it and cool it, try offering him some on your finger. If he won't eat anything, spits it all out, you need to see the vet about a dog this young who won't eat and who cannot live on high glucose solutions, which could potentially damage his liver and will certainly exacerbate his low blood sugar condition. You'd better get your dog back to the vet if nothing works and find out another food to try him on or he could die from hypoglycemic coma. |

Do you know for a fact this dog was fully weaned? Has he eaten food on his own since you've had him? P. S. He's a striking, beautiful boy! I love his markings and the way he stares right into the camera lens!!! So cute! |

It's a delicate balance doing things to encourage them to eat without making them so nervous about eating. You don't want to hover and act anxious. If you put the food down and then immediately start offering additional enticements or alternatives, he will think there is something wrong with the food and not eat. I presented Max's food like I was giving him gold. Best wishes in finding what works for your pup. |

I used to toss pieces of kibble for one dog of mine to chase and eat - the only way I could get him to eat. You'll have to use small enough pieces that he can get them but if nothing else, try it and see. Sometimes when they are not sick at all but just not eating for whatever reason, tossing their food pieces out for them to run and get will spur them into eating it. |
