| ![]() You might want to show that article about the desmopressin test to your vet anyway, just in case. Desmopressin is a drug that is used to treat diabetes insipidus, so if Tootsie does have DI, she may very well have to take it anyway. I'd want to know about the dangers and side effects of this type of test though, if the dog does not have DI. |

She will be closely monitored at the hospital. They do this test in the ICU. I plan to email him anyway to ask some more questions. Thanks ![]()

| ![]() Almost forgot to update this thread. Tootsie went for the water deprivation test and they ended up stopping it early on. With water being withheld, her specific gravity went up!! She is concentrating urine! Not sure what the deal is with her but certainly not something to worry about. She may just be drinking more to compensate for the other issue of all water not going down. AND on top of all of this, she is being adopted this coming Thursday to a wonderful family!! They have been waiting for us to complete Tootsie's testing and they had spent a weekend with her and also another weekend with Lovie. In the end, they opted to adopt Tootsie! She will have two fur brothers and wonderful parents. Their pups are their children...it is a home that any pup would thrive in...I am just SO happy for Miss Tootsie!!! ![]()

| ![]() Good news for Tootsie all the way around! I hope she's going to have a wonderful, healthy life in her new home.
