Siezures My Fergie is 7 years old we noticed she started dragging her back left leg a little in December and she has started having siezures. Took her to the TAMU vet school and they put her on Zonisamide and had to take her back because she had 2 in one night...then they said it may be neck pain they and put her on pregabalin and all of blood work was good. She seems to do good for a week and then every friday morning she has 1 or 2 siezures and they seem to be geeting worse each time...She is back at the vet school now....Anyone ever have this problem? |
I haven't but I'll be praying for your little one. |
Just got a call from the vet and they are thinking now that fergie has idiopathic meningitis.... |
I hope it is treatable. Sounds very scary. |
I hope they have found the cause now and can treat it. |
I am so sorry. I will keep Fergie in my thoughts and prayers. |
What happens on Fridays or Thursday nights? Does she scratch her neck behind one ear a lot? Has she been vaccinated for anything in the past 2-3 months? |
Idiopathic means there is no known cause. So, even if she had vaccines, there is no research that says they would cause it. I realize some people believe they set off that auto immune response that leads to these conditions; but the neurologist I spoke with told me there is no research to back that. Hope that Fergie is doing well this evening. |
I hope your baby will be better soon. Sending prayers. |
Wondering how Fergie is doing? Any news...sending prayers. |
Prayers for your little Fergie ; I hope she is on the road to recovery. Susan |
Yes she does scratch behind one ear a lot...and no she hasn't had shots since like sept. She has been getting better and better with her balance and she has been taking all 7 of her medications great and then yesterday evening she started shaking and her balance was off and she wouldn't eat and just not feeling good and this morning she had a small siezure... |
Prayers! |
