YorkieTalk Newbie! | Post spay advice Hi all, Zoey is 6 months old and it is now day 3 after her spay surgery. she is still very lethargic, not eating or drinking very well and is extremely clingy. She literally won't move from my lap. I brought her back to the vet today because I was worried about her not eating, he said all her vitals were normal and the incision was fine but she just seems so sad to me. She also doesn't seem to want to go potty at all. My question is has anyone had any similar problems with their puppies, I'm worried she will never be back to herself. |

| Poor Zoey, maybe she was in pain...did they give you any pain meds, it should be given for @ least the 1st 2 days. As for potty, some take awhile to go after anesthesia. If she hasn't eaten much, then not much will come out. I've read on here that it can take up to 5 days for some pups to have a bowel movement. After surgery or dental cleaning, I give my guys home cooked bland meal w/white rice or pumpkin (sweet potato will work too) w/their choice of protein (unsalted). It gets their appetite going & for the next meal, I add in a little bit of their kibble moistened or canned food. Hope Zoey will feel better soon, she will after a good meal!
