Donating YT 30K Club Member | Pixie does have PLN UPDATE I moved up Pixie's visit with the specialist to today due to predicted winter storm tomorrow. Pixie had the exam, ultrasound, blood work and urine protein:creatine ratio done. The ultrasound showed her kidneys were normal looking. No evidence of stones or tumors. All other organs looked normal as well. Her blood pressure was down to 125 from 240 2 weeks ago. She has been an the Enalapril for 2 weeks and it appears to be working well. Her BUN went down to 17 from 26 as well. I will get the urine results tomorrow. Pixie will stay on the Enalapril and start 1 mg of aspirin daily as well as 100 mg Fish Oil daily. These will be compounded at the pharmacy due to her size. Based on the result of the urine test they will determine when she needs a follow up visit. Most likely in 3 months. The specialist was very optimistic that Pixie can be managed for a long time with the PLN. Thanks for keeping her in your prayers.

| I am so happy you have results and that Pixie is going in the right direction. May she continue to do well for a very very long time. You must be so relieved to know it is working, and to have a good treatment plan.

| Patti, I am happy to hear that you and Pixie were able to see the specialist without problem today. Also very happy to hear that her test results show improvement, and that the doctor is very optimistic about managing her PLN. I will keep her and you in my prayers.

| Wow! Great news! I want to ask if this treatment, making her feel better in general, is having any effect on her previous problem behaviors (storm fear, etc)? So glad for this news! Go Pixie!

Donating YT 30K Club Member | Thanks! Kathy, It's too soon to tell if Pixie's behavioral problems will resolve with the medicine. I am hoping. Since it is the rain and thunder that really upset her I probably won't know until spring. I will keep you posted.

| Very good that the meds are already working & Pixie is improving! Hope Pixie will continue to do well. What did the vet say about her diet?

| I was so relieved to hear that her kidneys looked good and no tumors were found. I was on pins and needles all morning thinking of you and her. Bless her sweet heart. I don't like that she has PLN, but I guess that's better than some of the things they were checking her for. Hugs to you and little Pixie. So glad this appointment is over as I know how terribly worried you were.

Donating YT 30K Club Member | Thanks my dear Connie for texting with me through the long wait this morning. Jenny, They didn't say anything about her diet. I have to call for the UPC results tomorrow so I will ask. I had it down as one of my questions and then never looked at my notes. I am expecting her regular vet to call tomorrow when she gets the results from the specialist so I will ask her as well.

Donating YT 30K Club Member | For the few that have been following my thread on Pixie, Her urine protein creatinine ratio went up from 1.1 two weeks ago to 1.3. They doubled her enalapril and she has to have blood work, blood pressure and UPC repeated in one week instead of 3 months. The good news is Pixie is acting so much better. She was chasing Roxie around today, something I haven't seen her do in years. Thanks for the support.

| I know nothing about PLN, but am learning through your experience here. I know how good it is when you see improvement in their behavior, even a little more playfulness is a good sign that they feel better. Watching my Tiki (with MVD) get more playful and happy when she is under control with diet sure warms my heart. Now with Meika and diabetes, I look for the slightest signs of improvement, and again happy when they seem perky instead of sleepy all the time. Pixie is still in my prayers, and let's hope things continue to improve.
