| Bradycardia and unresponsive - ideas on cause? Hi all, looking for ideas or someone that has experienced something similar. The docs don't have any good ideas yet. They have mostly ruled out diabetes, and the ER Doc theorized Anaphylaxis. My Cosmo is 5.5 years old. On NYE I came home late in the evening and found him unresponsive in a location that implied he had fallen off the back of the couch (about hip high). He was unresponsive but had a faint heartbeat and we rushed to the ER where they administered medication to increase his heart rate. His glucose was sky high, and he was dehydrated. Negative for keytones. Approximately 9 hours later, almost all of his lab work came back normal, he was alert and acting mostly normal (as normal as can expected after a stay in the hospital). He was able to come home at 4PM on Wednesday and I monitored him all night. His ALT (range 10-100, score 220) and AST (range 0-50, score 143) were still high, but on the downward trend. So on Thursday at 2PM we had a follow up with the regular vet who drew blood to rerun his labs. She suggested a visit to the neurologist pending the results of the blood work (which I don’t have yet as of Friday at 3PM) Also of note, his last vet visit early 2012 was ~7lbs, and his ER weight was 5.3. His appetite is robust, and he is always excited to eat. If anything I have increased his quantity in recent months because I thought he was looking scrawny. He eats a home cooked meal (chicken, beef or eggs for protein along with F&V, and sweet potato. Yogurt, pumpkin, or SF applesauce on rotation for variety) and with BalanceIt supplement. |

| Has a Bile Acid Test been done? Were X-rays done? Urinalysis?

| Welcome to Yorkie Talk. I am very sorry to hear that Cosmo had a rough NYE. I don't have any suggestions for you as to what may be wrong, but his weight loss is concerning. Following up with a specialist would be a very good idea.
