| Sick with Upper Respiratory infection My Milo 2 1/2 yrs old baby woke us up in the middle of the night making funny noises. This morning he was fine when we first got up but then he started it again so I took him to vet. He said he had a fever and swollen limp nodes in his neck. He let me feel them too. He said it was an upper respiratory infection. He gave him a shot and an antibodic for 11 days. Poor Milo. He was fine until Friday when I took him to get his rabie shot. He only gets one shot at a time because he had a reaction to his shots last year. He done pretty good this time he only felt bad sat. He wasn't himself. He was fine and back to normal yesterday but now today he is sick. The vet said this is not related to his shot. Just wondering if anyone else has had their yorkie have a upper respiratory infection and when will he start feeling better. He just wants to lay around. When he gets up he is constantly stretching out his neck and licking the air.

I think he should feel better in about 24 hours. Poor little baby. When my girls are sick I wrap them in a blanket and hold them. It's a little extra attention time for them. If he isn't better in about 24 hours I would call the vet again. Sometimes antibiotics have to be changed. I will warn you I am a panicky mom. Lol. The vet knows me well. Haha. Usually mine are up and around the next day.

| Thanks y'all. Milo is feeling better and ready to play. He really worried me this morning. I didn't know what was going on with him. Poor thing had a fever and was sick. I wonder how he got an upper respiratory infection? He is my first little dog and I am so protective of him. I have felt so bad for him today.

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | Glad he is ok! My little Cheri did that one day - took her right in and she had an actual case of what WE call toncillitis - can't spell it but the dr had to put her on medicine for 10 days and bless her heart - it worked - she scared me awful! |
