Thanks so much Nancy and Ladyjane. I do think we are very blessed. Having wonderful and thoughtful people at this time proves that to be true. XOXO |
Prayers for sweet Calleigh this morning! |
Praying for a good outcome for Calleigh's surgery today, and a smooth, speedy recovery. Carol, praying for peace & comfort from stress & worry for you! You will both be in my thoughts & prayers. |
Prayers for a successful surgery this morning and a speedy recovery. Let us know when it is over and how she is doing. |
Looking for an update...hope all went well today. |
Thanks to all of you! Thank God, Calleigh is home now and recuperating. She had been crying/moaning for almost 2 hours. She has a very long incision. :( Thankfully, she did eat eventually. She was able to take all of her meds, so that was good. She is trying to sleep, but keeps waking up. She is pretty restless with the pain. Poor little girl. This is so heartbreaking. She seems to be in a lot of pain. The doctor did do both surgeries. I hope tomorrow will be a better day for her. Thanks so much everyone for all of your thoughts and prayers. They were truly answered. :) xoxo Carol & Calleigh |
I know it is heartbreaking to see her in pain. I'm glad she is ok and her surgery is over. I hope tomorrow will be better for her. We had several nights of whimpering and I was so glad when she was able to sleep more comfortable. Let us know how the night went. |
Kacee had a pain patch on her leg. That helped a lot, but it did keep her in a sort of drugged state for the days it was on. I could tell an immediate change in her after I removed the patch. |
Prayers for Calleigh! Poor little baby. Hopefully, today will be a better day for her. |
So sorry she is in so much pain, I wonder if other drugs would be be better? Sending prayers for you both, I know this is harder on you than it is on Calleigh. |
I am happy to read that surgery went well. Praying Calleigh feels better today. |
Thanks so much for your concern everyone. And thank you for your continuing prayers and support. It was very tough seeing her in so much pain last night. She seems a little better this morning. I called the vet and she put her on Buprenorphine for the pain today. She hasn't had any yet because I gave her the Tramadol before they switched her med. She resting right now. She is able to go outdoors to go potty. I thought she may go on the wee wee pads, but she prefers to do her business outside, at least for now. I'm going to try to ice her leg. I remember she didn't like that at all from her prior surgeries. I think I'll take a nap with her later. I feel wiped out. I'll update a little later. I hope everyone is having a wonderful day. Hugs your little ones tight. :) xoxo |
This is a painful surgery and I am so thankful that my ortho surgeon took Zoey home for five days to treat her pain. It was a relief for me knowing that he and his nurse wife were doing the best for her. Even after five days she still was sent home with pain meds. Hope your baby continues to heal and you get some rest. |
The surgeon/hospital I use keeps them for one overnight...that's it. I would never let one go home with another...I would rather care for them myself. That's just me. I also don't like that many discharge same day...I think that is difficult on the pup and the owner. |

Hope you get some sleep! :) |
Glad to hear that she's doing better today. Will be looking for update tomorrow. Get some rest mom...you need it too!!! |
It sounds like you are both wiped out. I hope you got a nap and I'm very glad you got some better pain meds. It's nice that she is able to go outside to go potty. She will slowly get better everyday. |

Calleigh is on Medacam and an antibiotic as well as the Bupi. We did her stretching exercises and she even let me put ice on her for a little while. Things are moving in the right direction I would say. Thanks so much for your advise. :) |

Not too worried about my nap right now. Maybe after my neighbors visits me. He is such a nice man. I hate seeing this happen to him. I hope the Oncologist can set me up with a Nutritionist so that they can suggest some high protein meals for us to make. I asked him if he liked liver and onions and his face lit up. That is one thing that would be good for him to eat. I hope you guys are having a great day. Thanks again Jenni. xoxo |
Picture of leg.. 1 Attachment(s) I always seem to have trouble posting pictures on here, but here goes. :) I've been trying to grow her hair long, oh well. I wish they didn't cut so much off of her bum. :( That's the least of our worries right now. |
