How's it going Shellie? |
So very happy to hear little Cassie is home in the loving arms of her mommie. Hoping this finds the both of you doing well. Keep up the good work Cassie. |
Yay! Praying she continues to do well! |
Here 1000's of miles away, I find myself thinking of 'Cassie' throughout the day and hope your love and her spirit can shine through... |
Checking to see how Cassie is doing |
I'll be completely honest...it's been a couple of weeks since I could bring myself to read some threads on YT because I was just so emotionally distraught. Shellie, you and Cassie and your family have touched my heart from the beginning and I feel pain when you feel pain and joy when you feel joy. I can't really say it any other way...you just really have a special place in my heart. I am so very happy to read that Cassie is home. I continue to pray for you both. Blessings to you. Keep up the fight, Ladies :) Hugs from Alabama! |
still praying that cassie continues to improve// you need each other |
Still praying for good health and much happiness for your Miss Cassie. Hope all is well... |
So happy to hear Cassie is doing better! I pray she keeps healthy and strong and has a long healthy happy life with you! xoxo |
Prayers answered! So glad to hear that Cassie is home. Sending up prayers of thanksgiving that she is improving and continued prayers for a full recovery. You asked about a calorie dense food to help put on weight. I have used a product called Dyne. Here's a link to Revival and information on the product - of course I'd check with her medical team before starting her on anything new. Quick Cassie Update: Hello friends, Sorry I have not been able to get back to you in a timely manner. But your devotion warms my heart as always. I have to run, but didn't want to go too long before letting you know how things are going. Cassie was released to me Sunday night. She was breathing okay, but so thin that I cried all the way home. She was 1 lb 12 oz. I spend every minute with her, night and day, if she is not on my chest she is by my side in her stroller. She is still very weak, Cannot walk yet, will have to do rehab with her when she is strong enough. Had bit of a scare Tuesday night as her breathing completely changed from quiet and calm to fast heavier labored breathing. I observed for a few moments and called ER. They said bring her in. Got dressed and when I picked her up she was soaking wet. She had pee pee-ed on the potty pad in her stroller. After I picked her up and changed her pad immediately her breathing completely changed and went back to normal. It didn't change, but I decided to bring her in anyway. They did X-rays, blood tests. Everything fine. Lungs look great. I have her in a sweater constantly round the clock and covered with a blanket too. I asked if the breathing change could have been from the stress of trying to hold the urine and not potty on the pad, but wait to go outside. They say it is possible, as she hates to be wet, and was being trained to potty outside after the first ER admission. They found nothing really wrong thank god and sent me home with nutrical and told me to give 3X a day for minerals and potassium supplement. Since then she has been doing pretty well. She will not let me out of her sight for a minute and usually barks if I have to go t o the bathroom or into another room, even for a second. She is glued to me. I am working round the clock- and I do mean round the clock to try to put some weight on her. So far she has gained two ounces, so this morning she was 1 lb 14 oz. Hoping for a better weight tomorrow. She is starting to get a little spunkier in her car seat, she tries to lift herself up so I can put my hand under her belly and stroke her belly. She loves it. I feed her about every two hours or if not possible at least every three to four hours.. So far she seems to be putting on some weight-but believe me- it is not easy. Yesterday we had an appointment with a neurologist for my dad, and he was diagnosed with Alzeheimers. I am very sad. That is about it. We going out to dinner, taking cassie with us, naturally- all bundled up. Much love to all More later, Shellie |
Always glad to hear an update on Cassie. So sorry to hear about you father. It seems as though you just can't catch a break. Good to hear that little Cassie is slowly putting on weight. I will continue to keep her, you and your father in my prayers |
Its been a long time since I have been on and let me tell you. . . The roller coaster I just rode reading where I last left off was one heck of a "breath holder". I am ecstatic that she is back home with her mommy! God is good! Prayer works. I'm so sorry about your dad. My grandmother has it really bad and it does get hard! However I just cannot get over little miss Cassie! You guys make a great team. Hang in there ladies. How old is she by the ways? |
