Peek A Boo's blood work (BUN/Creatinine and Amylase) is actually improved from the last check in April (although still elevated)! No signs of infection on the CBC or UA. The sodium: potassium ratio is 26, normal is 27-40, so she wants to retest this. She said the episode (purple gums, weakness) sounds like it could have been an Addisonian Crisis, but he would not have recovered as quickly nor without professional help.

So something may be going on, but we don't know exactly what it is. It's not bad yet, as the test results don't really point to anything.

There is a small spot around his trachea on the xray and the trachea is higher up in the lungs than it should be. This may be the reason for his occasional coughing (since he was 5YO).

He woke up this morning, went to the kitchen for his Cheerios (like he does every morning) then went back to sleep. He woke up around 10:30, went back out to the kitchen for his brunch (K/D and Iams + chicken babyfood, CO, and Omega 3s), peed on the pad and went in for his nap. He is more alert today, and looks up whenever I walk past him, so that's good.

Praying for peek.. poor boy. Very hard to watch them age with the ailments that come with age. My first Yorkie passed away at 16yrs. She had hardly ever seen a vet except for her vaccinations. She went home to be with our Lord. Bless her. Praying for peace and strength for you and peek. Ave

Peek A Boo's appetite has been great, and he's been going outside on his own (under his own power, never by himself!) His attitude and cognizance are great, and he hasn't had any more episodes. He's still a bit bloated looking at times, so I'm monitoring that... vet thinks it's just air or gas... probably a bit of each as he has 'passed gas' a few times (not normal for him), so keeping my fingers crossed that this too shall pass....

My prayers continue for Peek, I do hope this is just gas and will pass...lol...I made myself giggle. Seriously, know that I wish only the best for Peek's health.
