But, yeah, I have a tray with all of their meds on it. I found that made it easy to move around. |
Olivia is acting like nothing is wrong! :) Her ALT is 2035 so clearly there is something going on BUT it is better than yesterday at 2600. Her bilirubin is normal. She will go back in one week unless she shows symptoms...they said to watch closely for lethargy, inappetance, vomiting, diarrhea restlessness, or labored breathing. She is on Clavamox, denamarin, ursodiol, enalapril, aspirin. The enalapril and aspirin are for the PLN. She has been on them for a year now. |
Continued prayer for Olivia and her blood levels! Sending strength and blessing to her diligent private duty nurse :D |
Continued prayers for Olivia and for you! So glad she is at home. ((((Linda)))) |
Olivia did not eat yesterday afternoon and I had to fight her to get her meds down her last night. :( That Denamarin is large for her .. she is the absolute worse in my home for giving pills to. I spoke with my vet this morning and am going to get as many of her meds in liquid form as I can. She threw up in the middle of the night. :( This morning she picked at her food only eating perhaps a tablespoon of it. I so hate this....I tried to put her pills in pill pockets which she usually will take but she chewed on them until she found the pills and spit them out. I tried cheese..same thing. I can put them all the way down the back of her throat and she can work them back up. Some gag reflex on her. I remember dealing with this the last time .. hopefully it will pass soon. My vet is putting her on mirtazapine...I hope that will stimulate her appetite...I am taking her to see her this morning. One of my fosters has an appt so Olivia is going with. |
I know the battle with the pills all too well. Some pups are masters at getting pills out, particularly capsules. If Olivia can tolerate fresh mozzarella, I warm it slightly and put the pills inside. It softens it and incapsulates the pill. I've also used cream cheese. I really hope she feels and gets better. I hope the vet appointment goes well for both pups. |

Oh Linda, I am so sorry to see that Olivia's not feeling better today. :( I'm praying the medication will help her get her appetite back so she can continue to recover. Bless her little heart, she's such a precious little girl. |

2 Attachment(s) Here is a pic I took of her today in the car. I was thinking about letting her hair grow back but after seeing this pic, I think it is getting cut off in the near future. :D Attachment 390742 She had beautiful hair at one time, but I do think she is happy without it... She has a gorgeous coat and such a sweet little face. She is adorable even with her messy face (Max's favorite style :D). |
