Cali has a growth on her upper lip

Yes the vet said it needed to be removed and sent out for a biopsy. That's why I'm concerned, on her other growth they just did a needle biopsy right in the room.

Patti no it wasn't classified as a melanoma.
I did however save her path report and this what it said.
Oh I also stated it wrong, it was her upper lip.

Round cell tumor compatible cutaneous plasamacytoma.
( contains rare megalocytic and multinucleated cells are present).

Surgical excision is the treatment of choice for this tumor. Since it can be locally infilrative. The surgical site should be monitored for local recurrence.

This was done in 2008, she passed from cancer on 2010, BUT not from the lip cancer.

Thanks Vicki. Cali had a plasma cyst on her head, this one looked different. I feel better knowing they said it was best to remove your babies.
UPDATE
Cali is out of surgery! Her vet just called and said she did very well. She has stitches on the inside and outside of her lip that will dissolve. They had to shave her lip. She did not find any other tumors and her lymph nodes were not swollen. These are good signs that it is benign. She took a wedge section to get clean margins just in case it turns out to be malignant. Can't wait to pick her up at 4!

I picked Cali up at 4. My cable, internet and phone have been our all afternoon. Just came back on. Cali was so excited to come home. She ate a little ad went right to sleep. She has a little fat lip! Now just waiting for path report. Thanks for the prayers and good thoughts!

Thanks! Cali is doing great. She has eaten a few small meals and is getting around fine. She won't let me get a good look at her lip. I know it must be so sore. I will get a look once I give her the antibiotics. Praying for a good report now!
