I have a 13 week old yorkie that I took to the vet for a well check but came back that she had a level 4 heart murmur. I went for a second opinion the next day and that vet confirmed it so they sent us to a Cardiologist for a ultrasound and she does have PDA and is scheduled for surgery June 28th. I can't imagine not getting it fixed! They said if its not fixed she may live a year but I just can't bare to see her suffer with congestive heart failure and breathing problems. Soooo the first visit to the cardiologist was 500.00 I had to get her shots before surgery which was 130.00 and surgery will be 2200.00! Please pray for my little Zoey that she makes it through the surgery there is a chance of bleeding during this procedure!!!!!!

We will all pray for little Zoey to make it through her surgery. She will be in good hands with your vet and I trust her Creator to guide her through this.

Have you contacted the breeder?????? This is a genetic defect and it SHOULD be sometjhing the breeder steps up and takes care of.... I will of course be praying for your baby...one of my babies years ago, had to ave heart surgery...I used a cardiothoracic specialist and it was a piece of cake for him...baby did super, and recovered without a hitch!! So as frightening as it is....these specialists know what they are doing, so your baby could not be in better hands.....

Her breeder gave her her money back...I would like to see more but at least it was something. She posted on another thread....

Anyway...I have only seen good results with these surgeries (the ones we have had done and others) so I am going to pray that your little Zoey will be just fine!
