				 | Abby I guess it is still early in Az for vet visit unless she went to a specialty clinic. It is like waiting for results on our own dogs! My boy is in the vet for a dental this am and I wait for news about him too. Anesthetic is always scary to me. |

I understand about your little baby boy - my girl was at the vet for a dental last Tuesday. Anesthesia just always seems to worry us the most! Praying for a quick recovery once he returns home today. | |

				 | Dental side bar! Thank you, I so hated dropping him off at 7 am as he was starving!! He should be starting the procedure at 9am and I am praying he will be ok, poor little mite. I feel particularly worried as a friend's Papillon went in last week for cleaning and one extraction and came out with eight!! Aaarghh! I sure need a Valium now until I hear news. I hope your baby did well after the dental. Again praying little Abby is going to be ok. I hope it is just stress, I know any new dog I have had seems to have a bad tummy for a few days until settled in the new environment. Sorry for the diversion! | Update on Abby Hi Everyone- Just got back from the vet and finished getting Abby settled in. I haven't read all the posts yet, so I'll go back and read after the update. After talking to the vet tech at the emergency clinic last night, she felt that the amount of water Abby had gotten was good until we could get her to the vet today, so we continued giving her water throughout the night. We took her to a different vet today, one that we liked a lot with our Pointer we had years ago. He did a thorough exam and got her bloodwork and fecal test results from the vet we went to on Saturday. Good news is he doesn't think it is pancreatitis and believes it was something she ate. Her dehydration was minor so he didn't feel she required any sub q fluids today. She is going potty on a pretty regular schedule and is a little more active today. Nowhere close to as active and perky as she was when we got her, but I am hoping that maybe it is all just stress from a new home and then getting so sick on top of it. She is responding to us more today though, which makes me feel a little better. We got Nutrical and Viyo (I guess it's pedialyte for dogs?) and he wants us to offer her baby food to eat. So I am just watching her today and hoping she gets hungry enough to eat. If not, he gave us some more syringes to use to feed her. If she doesn't eat or drink on her own today, he wants us to bring her bag tomorrow for iv's. |

				 | I just updated, but a moderator has to approve so it should show up soon. But after I clicked post, she walked over to her water and gulped some up! I am so happy right now!! I just hope she does the same with her food. |

				 | My short replies seem to show up immediately, so until my longer update shows up, I wanted to update that Abby is doing okay right now. Thank you all for your advice and positive thoughts for her! |

				 | Kbay Thank you so much for your kind words re my baby who had the dental. After all the stress, I heard that all went well, no extractions, and he took the anesthetic well too. It is sweet of you to ask, especially as I hijacked your thread, and you are so concerned with your little one. (((Hugs))). I do pray that all your stress will be relieved too as Abby continually improves. She does seem to be getting better and I am sure you will get other opinions if she declines again. It is so concerning when our little ones get sick and particularly when they will not eat and drink. You know we are here if you need support. |

				 | Abby She will be! I have a lovely figurine of St. Francis and I asked him to keep my baby safe today, and he answered my prayer. I will ask him to make your little Abby well, and I pray he will do the same for her. You do sound more peaceful and positive now, and that is so good to see you feeling better. Sleep well and warmest wishes and hugs to you and Abby. Keep coming here, the support of empathetic moms and dads sure keeps us going when we are stressed. |
