| A question Charlie woke up this morning with bloody diarrhea and I rushed him to the animal emergency hospital (my vet is closed today, naturally!!). He was dehydrayed so they kept him to give him IV fluids. They are doing tests now - the vet ( that I do not know since it's an ER) mentioned several things it could be - pancreatitis was one of the possibilities. Charlie is current on all his shots - this hit so suddenly and unexpectedly I can't imagine what he has and I am worried sick. Yesterday I did think it was unusual that twice I got up and Charlie, who is always my shadow, stayed on the couch. He has never done that before- if I leave the room - he goes with me.... So in hindsite, I think he felt bad then...? He did not eat last night but drank a lot of water. Has anyone ever experienced anything like this? He always weighs 4.6lbs. But today he was in the 3's...? I just called the vets and they don't have any results in yet - This is a miserable waiting game! :-( |

| Oh dear! Did they rule out HGE? Test is PCV (packed cell volume) if the vet mentioned that... Keeping Charlie in my prayers...

| Just got a call from ER and all the tests have come back in the normal range...which is good ....but we still don't know what is wrong with him but they are letting me bring him home and I will be cooking rice and boiled chicken for him. They are sending some other meds home too - and hes hydrated again. I just can't wait to pick him up!! Funny that he only weighs 4 lbs but this house feels empty without him!! :-) Will keep you posted - hopefully, he will bounce back fast! |

| I'm glad that Charlie bounced back quickly, but keep a close eye on him just in case--if he starts vomiting or the bloody diarrhea returns, get him back to the ER as soon as possible. Praying for a complete recovery! |

| Praying for Charles to heal. Bloody diarrhea didn't just come from no where. I would definitely follow up with normal vet on Monday and keep a close watch on him until then (as I know you will).
