| My heart goes out to you. I just had a neighbor loose a morkie to liver shunt, she to was told to do the surgery but did not want to spend the money, she spent some money on treatments and a special diet but finally after about 6 months at a little over a year she had him put down because it was to far gone at that time to treat. She told me recently if she could do it over she would have spent the money on the surgery. Most of the time the surgery on a young pup is successful. If you can really not afford it, I would see if someone else you know or a rescue group would be interested in taking him in. It's very sad but I understand how for some people unexpected vet bills are just not possible. Can I ask you if you spoke to the breeder or who ever you got your pup from, I was wondering what they have to say.

| If your pup is young enough (you said 1) maybe it can be treated with meds, supplements and diet. Or really consider the tests to be certain. |
