Sulfur preparations have been used for many years for many things and I see where a sulfur dip could fix this. I was confused for years, thinking that ringworm was an actual worm. I just am trying to spread the word it is a fungus, not a parasite. I was an RN for 14 years before going to the ER, and THAT is when I learned the difference!

| I have been a cosmetologist for 25 years now retired my dad a barber for 40 before that. My dad got ringworm at the barber shop 2 times. We were instructed to never ever work on a person who had ringworm on their heads in school. My son also got it from a cat when he was very young. http://www.webmd.com/skin-problems-a...topic-overview

My vet isn't adminstering oral meds. He is doing the weekly dip x3. I'm going to have to take puppy back in the morning. I feel some lesions on the pups ears but I can't tell if they look the same as what they look like on my daughters neck. The lesions on his ear seem to be getting better since the first dip. I don't know why my vet can't give me a definitive answer. I feel like he's a good vet. He says the black light test will give a false negative or false positive. He said it's just not that reliable. He also said by the time the scrap culture comes back, he can be through with treatment. So I just don't know. I'll be glad when this crap is gone and we can go on about our lives. Thank you for the advice. | |
