| ![]() hi, my 4 year old yorkie Isabella has had stomach issues many times (diarrhea, even blood in diarrhea) the first few times, I panicked and took her to the emergency vet, however it has come to the point where now i wait it out and she usually is better within a few hours. However last night she threw up a little with blood and had a lot of bloody diarrhea. i was terrified but decided to wait a couple hours til my husband got off work, she seemed alert and still this morning, she seems ok. just a little sleepy which is normal because she doesnt like getting up early. I read that this could be gastroenteritis (which the vet has said she has gotten before) but still, i have no clue how it could seem this bad. i'm planning on taking her to the vet, but i would like to know if any of y'all have experienced something similar? |

| ![]() This could also be HGE which can be deadly. Get her to the vet right away!

Donating YT 30K Club Member | ![]() Good luck at the vet. One of mine has irritable bowel and can get episodes of bloody diahrrea. She also has had 2 episodes of HGE which is scary. Usually caught early the medicine works great. I will keep Isabella in my prayers.

| ![]() Bloody diahrea as long as it isnt excessive doent necessarily mean something is wrong can just be a little gastrointestinal upset. However diahrea for more than 2 days is reason to go the vet and anytime there is vomiting with blood or vomiting with diahrea it is time to go to the vet

| ![]() Hi everyone. Bella is doing fine now. The vet said she just needs to be monitored and to make sure she keeps hydrated. She got her appetite back yesterday and has had no more diarrhea or vomiting. Thank you all for your concern. ![]() |

| ![]() OK probably a real dummie here, but what the heck is HGE? So glad your baby is doing well. Nothing more frightening than a little Yorkie not 'functioning' right. They are so small, they can quickly go from healthy to very ill. Mine, and I've had yorkies for many years, have not had much problem with the stools. When something did happen, it was because someone let them eat what didn't agree. My Libby doesn't tolerate pork.... come to think of it, I don't do very well with it either! Like mother like daughter!! |
