If there is no pain you shouldn't put your do through the surgery because it is very rough!

Like I said- I will repeat myself. Only a Vet should make that call- each case of LP is different.

The problem with that is that in every profession there are people who will tell people that there is something they need when they dont because they want money. That's why research is so important. Callie has been through the surgery and it is very rough and I would not suggest it for a dog who is not having any pain or problems.

Ok you're not getting it.. At all

research is important. I think sometimes you give out wrong information- I wouldnt want the OP getting confused.. Always listen to your Vet or Specialist, 2 opinions are great too.

Op I'm sorry I meant to post not nessecarily but I'm on my cell so it messed up. I personally would not do it surgery unless the dog is in pain or having problems with it. Callie had the surger on one knee and her ACL fixed and it was very rough the first two or three weeks where the worst. Then toward the end she had a pen try to come out and it caused her so much pain right before they took it out. Now it's a lot better and I will do it on the other if needed but if she dosent need it I won't do it.

I am sorry I used the wrong word and did check it but from my experience which is from what most people answer a question is that knowing how rough and painful lp surgery is that unless the dog is having problems with the lp such as pain I would not do it. That is not false info.

Give Lovetodream a break! She is on the cell and that is not the easiest keyboard to operate. Although a few typos it was clear what she was saying. Namely, her dog had a really bad time with the surgery and post op recovery, and due to pain a PIN had to be taken out. Her advice is to only do the surgery if the dog is suffering and in pain. Perhaps some have lost the point of this thread, which is to help the original poster to make a hard decision.

Telling the OP surgery isnt necessary unless there is pain is wrong.. Only a vet or specialist can tell you if you need surgery or not- that needs to be clear.

Its great to share expierences, but don't make statements about something that should be coming from your Vet/ specialist. Thats when people get confused.
