| Neo Pinched My Sandwich! While I had my back turned for a few minutes, my greedy little man decided that HE needed the rest of my Subway BMT more than I did! It was only about 1/4 ( or less) left, but my concern is there was some onion on it. No cheese or condiments, only meat, tomato, lettuce, black olives, and bell pepper and red onion. When I got back in the sunroom, where DH and I were eating, I noticed the wrapper and various pieces of the sandwich on the floor. I'm really worried about the onion, not so much the meat, as there was not much left on the bread. Should I try and induce vomiting, or wait and see how he does without it? I have not been in this situation before, and want to do whatever I can so he doesn't get really sick! |

| Call the ASPCA Animal Control Poison Line (888) 426-4435 or a vet.

| This article was on another thread. WARNING! Onions Are Toxic to Dogs Others have said their yorkies have eaten onion without adverse effect and that it is dose related and more dangerous if they are consumed on a regular basis. Good luck!

| My little boy Toby got into the garbage one night and ate some caserole that was loaded with onions. I was scared to death too, but he did not have any adverse effects from it, so I am praying that this is the case with your little Neo. These little ones are fast.

| Hey, guys! Sorry I didn't get back before now. It has been a very hectic 24 hours for me, and I'm happy to say that Neo is fine! I called the vet on duty rotation, and explained the situation. He said that I could give him peroxide, but mainly to just watch him and be prepared to take him outside alot! So, that is what I did. Never any bad reaction, didn't have to give him the stuff, and finally around 2am we finally went to bed. Today, he is fine, but now Connor has an upset tummy, and threw up all over the kitchen floor. I know where that came from--the neighbor dog came over for a visit, and Connie chased him around the back yard until he just about passed out! Then he over did the the water bowl, and there you go--UPCHUCK CITY Now they're both chilling out with Daddy-- and I'm about to settle down for the Oscars. Thank you everybody for your advice and concern! You're awesome! |
