This morning, my little girl woke me up with the sound of her incessantly scratching her ear. I finally took a look and I was shocked to find that part of her ear is MISSING. I know that makes me sound insane but it looks like a piece of her ear was snipped off! It was not bloody or scabbed over or anything?! But I did notice there are a couple dark striations along the ear as well that I'd also never seen before. I clean her ears abt once a month, there is no bad smell so I know it's not an infection - but she's got the same going on w her other ear!!! Lily is 4yrs old now- I know what her ears look like so I KNOW this is new...she doesn't seem to be sick or anything at all- she's her same chipper self...I'm taking her to the vet but I'm curious to hear what you may all think this could be?

Cutaneous vasculitis can present like this. If your vet is not familiar with it, I strongly suggest you see a vet dermatologist.

I have had a case of this recently with one of my fosters...he has since cleared up. He lost a tiny piece of his ear.
