To keep her occupied, the only thing I can suggest is lots of holding, massage, and carrying on walks. When my boy was neutered and couldn't go on his walks for a couple of weeks, I carried him on our regular route. Later, when it is safe, you can use the stroller. Best wishes! Keep us updated on her recovery.

| I am glad to hear the surgery went so well. It is very important to keep the confined to a crate in the beginning and then to a small xpen where they have limited access to move about no playing no quick moves. Trust me they will be ready to run far sooner than they should. A stroller is a great way to keep them contained but near you so that you can do chores and keep an eye on them at the same time. Best wishes for a smooth and complete recovery.

| oh she wants to run already...tranquilzer and pain meds and it barely made her tired. Went to bed at 11 and was barking away at 5. this is going to be a long haul...shes in a pen with lots of padding but she managed to open the potty part that was closed off and went in and pooped! They didnt think she would go for days! I had to take her out of pen and put her in smaller crate this morning as she was already trying to put her legs up on the wall. Thank goodness I put two layers of moving pads under her.. |

| Well its been six days since surgery. God this is going to be a long six weeks. She was surgeon checked today for her incision and he said it looks great! They took off her bandage. I just feel so bad for her. I had to take her out of her puppy apt during the day (which we made super small and put a drop ceiling in) because she jumps and thats a nono..and put her in a smaller crate. She looks sooo bored. I also think shes mad at me. Im the one who has to give her the clavamax (she hates it) and other meds into her and put her in the small cage. She looks at me with this "what are you doing to me" face. She doesnt play with toys and she can only use a kong if we hold it for her because she has a collar on...advice? anyone been there?? |
