| Donating YT 30K Club Member | So glad thet are doing better. I would also question the new flooring. Was glue used, stain or coatings? These things can affect little ones.

| I am glad that your babies are doing better. I hope you find out what caused such a reaction in both of them at the same time.

| I took Paisley and Angel to the vet this morning and then had to take Paisley just a little while ago. They have come to the conclusion that it was the glue from the floor causing problems with their nervous systems. I feel sooo bad. The new floors are floating floors that snap together with no glue required, but the old wooden floors that had glue on them that we are tearing up is what has caused the problem. I did not even think about the effect the old glue could have on them. The vet has said until the floors are done they need to be put in a separate room. I just hope I have not caused any permanent damage from my stupidity. I do not think I could ever forgive myself. Thank you all for your advice, concern, and prayers. They are very much appreciated. God Bless Annmarie

| Donating YT 30K Club Member | I ma glad you found the cause of their illnesses. I would keep them in a well ventilated room for awhile. They should be ok going forward.

| I think her vet owes several YT members diagnostic fees!!!!! Now that you have the correct problem diagnosed, what in the world do you do about something like that??? Never mind....I see your floors are actually a work in progress....."well ventillated area" is a must!!! Last edited by Yorkiemom1; 01-18-2013 at 03:45 PM. |

| Annmarie, don't beat yourself up. You didn't know...many of us wouldn't have thought about the "old" stuff being the problem. Yes, just keep them away and in a well ventilated area of the house and they will come thru this fine. I'm so happy you were able to get to the correct diagnosis so it won't happen again. Praying all goes well and they both feel better very soon!

| I'm not entirely sure on what it entails but my dogs recently got a rat thay most likely had been poisoned. The vet mentioned toxin flushing not being needed because of the poisons allowed in CA and we'd see if vitamin k worked which it has or my dogs didn't get poison transference. I think a toxin flush is probably different per the chemical that is found in blood work but I know it usually involves an iv of various meds etc.

| Our floors are finished, and the girls are back to running around and getting into everything, so things are fine now. Thank you for the prayers.

| Sending prayers!!! Guess I should have read everyone's post before. So happy to hear you know what the cause is. I know how fearful that drive to the emergency vet can be. We are almost an hour away too and had to make that trip twice in one night. Thank heavens you've got an answer.

| I am so glad your floor is finished and everyone is doing fine. I was thinking about you and your babies over the weekend. Yorkies are truly the Canary in the coal mine as they react quickly to toxins around them. I was thinking about your health as well Annmarie. It is a little late now that the floor is finished but I was thinking you should be careful and make sure all the glue bits and dust are vacuumed up. My brother and his wife just had to have their kitchen flooring replaced as it contained asbestos. Best wishes.
