| My Lexi is sick :( Hi, everyone. I am a new member and thought this would be a great way to compare and communicate with fellow yorkie/dog lovers. Unfortunately my first post is due to my 4 yr old Lexi being sick. She went to the groomer Friday morning and has been having stomach issues/diarrhea off and on since. She previous has had a bacterial infection that almost took her and is why I'm so paranoid right now. I am making sure she is drinking to say hydrated but she does not have much of an appetite. She has been trembling off and on as well. Does anyone have any suggestions to make her feel better and is it best i take her to the vet ASAP? Or am I just being an overprotective mom? |

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | If she only recently recovered from the GI infection, it wouldn't hurt to go in and/or take one of poos in for a stool evaluation. Loss of appetite is always a really important cue when it comes to dogs, so if that isn't better...it's really best to go in. Please keep us posted. And welcome to YT .

| Considering she has already had a gi bug of some kind, I would go ahead and take her in...especially with the "trembling" and loss of appetite....you dont want her to get ahead of you with this, and she may be having some abd. pain causing the trembling....have you taken her temp? Is she running a fever? I would take her in....and take a stool sample.. |

| I just for back from the vet and it looks like a stomach virus. The Vet gave her a shot for Nausea and pills for diarrhea. Hopefully this will cure it. I hate seeing her sick. Thank you all for the suggestions and concern! |

Donating YT 3000 Club Member | I agree with everyone about taking her in to get checked out and make sure you bring a stool sample. Good luck

| I would definitely take her to a vet. She may need to have some blood work drawn. Have you checked her gums? They should be moist to touch. If they are sticky, that would be a sign of dehydration. These little ones can quickly dehydrate when they have diarrhea and/or anorexia. Welcome to YT. Please let us know how she is doing.

| Lexi and I paid a visit to the vet this morning and it looks likes she has a virus. She got a shot to help with the nausea and some medication for the diarrhea. She still can't hold down food but I'm hoping the meds will help. Thank you all for your suggestions and concern! |

| I'm glad you were able to get her into the vet. I'm sorry she's got a virus. Bless her heart. I'm sure the meds will help her get better soon. Praying for a fast recovery.
