| Sophie Kate Needs Prayers I spent a major part of last night at the Emergency Vet with Sophie Kate. At around 8:30 pm she started vomiting and by 10:00 pm she had gotten sick four times and would not take any fluids so off to the Emergency Vet we went. The ER Vet gave her 300 ml of Sub Q "Ringers" (fluids) and meds for her upset tummy (sorry do not have the names, the information is with my Vet). I turned down their offer to keep her overnight and brought her home with me, I just felt better staying awake with her (I did not get a good feeling from this Vet, they took my baby from me and I did not see her for over an hour, that is never allowed). This morning I took Sophie Kate to her Vet by 8:30 am (they called me based on the fax from the ER Vet). She is there now, has not gotten sick today and is urinating fine but she is not absorbing the Sub Q fluids very fast. That has my Vet concerned so they are going to keep her until the end of the day for observation and will decide if she is staying overnight. My Vet has done all her blood work and an ultasound and does not see anything unusual. Sophie Kate has a history of Pancreatits but they don't seem to think that is the problem because her blood work looks fine. The one thing that scares me is my Vet said her symptoms are like a Puppy with Parvo! That scares me, I get her shots yearly and take what I think is excellent care of her. I am pretty used to Sophie Kate special dietary needs due to the Pancreatits but this has me really scared. I am so careful with her diet and make sure she never gets anything but her RX food and fresh water. If you have a spare prayer and can offer it to Sophie Kate it would be appreciated. I know she is sick, last night she did not want to cuddle with me at all (which is unusual), she went to the other end of the couch and slept curled up in a ball (which is not usual). For now I am remaining calm but I am so scared for my little girl

| I will most definitely say a prayer for your sweet Sophie Kate, hopefully they can figure what is wrong with her and get her better!! With parvo, they usually throw up blood and have really bad bloody smelly diarrhea. To me it doesn’t sound like she has Parvo. Has she had anything differeny, treats or maybe even bully sticks/texas toothpicks- That is what made Peanut really sick the last time!

| Sending prayers for Sophie Kate. I hope it is just a tummy bug and nothing serious. Poor sweet baby

| Oh no prayers certainly going out for Sophie Kate. I agree this does not sound like Parvo to me. Is it possible for them to do a Parvo Snap test on her ?

| Hm I googled Trifexis, looks like it has caused lethargic, weak, shaky vomiting dogs going into seizure’s 3 hours after taking Trifexis. I personally wouldn’t give that to her again… Maybe this is what is going on with her? Maybe her body just is one that can’t handle it..? I would def do your own research on Trifexis and make your own call. Did you tell the Vet that you gave that to her?

| I will be thinking about Sophie Kate... Have you had an update from your vet? I'm glad you chose to go with your gut and take her home... I would not have been okay with them taking her for an hour. Poor girl.

| Cheryl, I am praying for sweet Sophie Kate as she struggles through this. Hopefully, it is just a "bug" and not a bad reaction to the Trifexis or Parvo or anything else really bad. I am so glad she is in the hands of her competent vet and that you sought treatment ASAP. She is lucky to have you and I know she is so very dear to you. I've seen your posts about her and have a pretty good idea this girl is your little princess. God bless little Sophie Kate and her mommie and may she get well very, very fast.

| Absolutely prayers for Sophie Kate! My vet warned me off to the idea do Triflexis stating many dogs have trouble with it and she told me why, but I forgot because I decided right away it was not for us. Cali does well on Revolution. Keep us posted!

| Aw, poor baby I pray that the vet figures out what is going on and that she is better quickly. It really doesn't sound like Parvo to me, but of course I'm not a vet. Being vaccinated is no guarantee, as there are so many different strains of the disease that it would be impossible to vaccinate against every single one. If she does indeed have Parvo, the silver lining would be, of course, that you got her prompt medical attention and that she is in the very capable hands of your vet. This applies no matter what is going on, you did not "wait and see" like a lot of people do when their babies are ill. You are a wonderful parent to Sophie Kate and she WILL be all better very soon

| My thoughts are with you. I just went through a scare with Brandi. I had to rushed her to emergency vet as well. Fortunately for Brandi everything turned out well. I know what you are going through. Hopefully Miss Sophie Kate will be back to normal. |

That's actually what happened to Brandi. She had an adverse reaction to some new meds. Her symptoms were lethargy, disorientation, drooling, unstable, pacing and getting stuck in corners. It all started when she was given the new meds. Her meds have been switched and she is now doing fine. | |
