| Re Nella is home. Slept most of the night...she slept so hard I had nudge her a couple of times...Iam slightly paranoid that her glucose levels may be down ....they're not, but who can blame me?! We took a short walk this morning (it snowed; both my Yorkies don't like it too much) for pee/poop- it was pretty successful. Stool is still "off" but we were told that would be the case. Afterall shes been under IV and dextrose, and no real food for 3 days....and naturally her harness now looks like its three sizes too big. Poor thing! She is given numerous meds every 2-4 hours to make her feel better and fight whatever this is. Since all test came back negative she is given meds are for: nausea, vomiting, GERD like symptoms, ulcers, infections, bacterial infections, parasites, etc. She has been eating (yey!) boiled chicken liver and this afternoon I introduced some white rice into the mix and she loved it- before I knew it her tiny portion was gone. I am planning on giving her 3-4 small portions/day until we can reintroduce her regular dry food (Instinct Chicken flavor) in the next 4 days or so. My experience with her meds: Luckily most are suspensions. Forget about capsules or tablets; she spits those right out...even when I crush the meds and try to blend with chicken/cheese she turns her head. Than again, she always has been fussy but it's all a part of "the game" Thanks all for your inquiries. I am continuing to research and trying really hard to find any answer to why this happened. HGE is just too broad of a term! We have a vet appt next week for more tests (toxin, IBD/food allergy, liver abnormalities, etc.) to be done. I would love to find out why and how this happened so that hopefully we don't have this happen again and I can share my experience and findings with everyone here. |

| Happy to read your update. The fact that she walked outside at all is amazing! It's good to hear she is eating a bit more with the rice. I will continue to keep her in my prayers. Please do keep us posted on anything you discover with your research and tests. I know Nella's experience is going to end up helping someone in the future thanks to your detailed description of events.

| We just came back from a walk which she was pretty excited to take. She had picked up her paw and had me scratch her neck All in all she's been well....barking a bit and was pretty excited (did a half sided flip) when she saw her "daddy" come home. |
