| Yes surgery can be necessary for a broken leg. My mom had a yorkie who's leg got broken. She had to have surgery.

| Yep, surgery is most likely unavoidable. My brother in law's older dog- Cabo (a Brittney Spaniel) broke his leg by jumping off of the VERY small step on his deck (after having done it HUNDREDS of times!) when Cabo was just a pup- 5 or 6 months. He needed surgery and a pin placed in his leg. He has healed beautifully and now, serveral years later, there are no ill effects.

| I really can't imagine any alternative to a broken leg but surgery. Hopefully others will come on regarding a broken leg and can advise based on experiences. I'm sure it depends on the type of break, etc., but I know nothing about broken bones. I know these little ones are so fragile, it would be so easy for them to be injured with small children, who are known to be rough being such a young age. I'm sure he loves her to pieces but they will need strict supervision when they are together...well, at least util they both grow up. She likely is not eating due to the broken leg and may be in pain. Sending prayers for your pup and hope her recovery is successful.

| I'm so sorry that happened to your baby. If the vet recommends surgery, I think it's probably what is best. Praying for Lollipop's speedy recovery!

| Thankyou so much for all kindest love you've send us, this morning I'm taking her to another vet, so I can have a second opinion , she's very small, and I'm afraid to do a surgery for her, I normally don't leave lollipop with my son alone but it happens so quickly I barely has time to tell him to leave her ... I couldn't sleep last night I know she's in pain |
