I want to choke my husband my husband is sound asleep in the next room and needs to get up early for work. However I am pissed and would like to go in the bedroom and shake him by the neck and wake him up to look in a napkin. Why is that you may wonder, it's because Lola just puked up a big pile of stuff, she never pukes and does not normally have problems, I picked through all the barf and felt something very hard and pretty large. It was a CHUNK of pork chop from his dinner. I was not there when he was eating, but Lola was, I told him a day ago not to give it to her since it was cooked in sherry, butter and creme of mushroom soup, but not only did it give her some he gave her a piece that I would have trouble swallowing. He loves Lola and calls me on the carpet the second he thinks I did anything in the slightest that would upset her, so I am sitting here trying to hold my tounge until the morning, but I am pissed that he would give her such a large piece of food, dogs don't always chew stuff like that, they inhale it and after 25 years of owning small dogs you would think he would know better. |
oh no! I'm glad that she's ok (I'm assuming?). I don't blame you though - I'd throttle him too. Chad got caught feeding dairy to Ody before we had Zeus (Ody was begging for ice cream and he NEVER begs) and even though he denies it, Zeus is always begging for food from him and never me. Mmmhm... I hope that you have soft pillows... |
Omg... At least it's out of her system.. I'll pray for little Lola to be better soon... Knock your husband on the head one extra time for me... I'm scared forever now of pups eating things they shouldn't... please take care of her and give her a hug for me..l |
Oh, thank goodness she puked it up! Pork gave Jilly a $500.00 vet bill back when I'd only had her a short time!!! Hope she's feeling better. The only thing that will cure a man of doing this is making them take the dog to and fro for vetting, doing all the careing for, cleaning up and sitting up nights with them while they are sick. And making them go online and pay the bill with their own big fingers!!!! But, I know what you are going to say - with their jobs - who can get a man to do all this when he's got to be out there earning that $$$ that buys us all the stuff we want. So, they "skate" - that is they avoid the dog vet and medicine dosing and go off to earn money while we take care of the dog they sickened slipping it a tidbit or two! But, that's just the way it is! You can try but even after years you won't change them that much for doing this kind of thing! They are men, after all! Enough said! :( :) :D |
Wake him up! lol |

Shove that puke in his mouth while he sleeps. That'll wake him up. |

Let's stick to pillow fighting for now. |
Oh, I am so glad Lola is OK. You are a stronger woman than I am. I think I would be marching in there with the pile of puke and showing it to him!! Poor little girl. I am glad that she was able to get it up or you would be at the vet and who knows what could have happened. |

LOL if this happened at my house Larry would tell me "Oh i must have dropped a bite" he denies everything |
Glad Lola is ok! It is SO frustrating when someone does stuff like that. I live with my parents as I'm saving to buy a house this spring - I had to literally hide the treat jar as any box of treats I bought them was disappearing within 1 week - they get ONE a day! She of course also denied it. They are always begging at her when she eats too, and they never do when I eat because they know I won't give in. She denies feeding them anything. Our first dog when I was a kid should have weighed 16 pounds.. he weighed 28!!!! He'd get a plate of whatever we were eating that was larger than my serving. He died at 10 years old too, wonder why. Hopefully you were able to keep your cool until morning.. I totally understand the wanting to choke him... but you're no good to Lola in jail, lol. Hope she's feeling better now. |
oh boy! my husband learned really fast with these lil ones. thankfully this is one thing he has learned and not done again...i know amazing for me to say that about a man! i hope lola is better and hes still alive after you get your mits on him!! |
Glad Lola is OK. I made my husband read this thread the first thing this morning before he went on his walk. Whenever he is in the kitchen Macy stands at his feet staring at the floor. He drops alot of things too and denies feeding her. Must be a man thing. |
I hope that Lola is feeling better. Nothing shows them, like them stepping in it on the way to the bathroom . . .in there bare feet :p |
I am glad that Lola is ok. I would be pissed too |

I stayed up to late last night, on YT!! so I wound up sleeping in and missed him this morning:( so I can't decide if I should call and blast him or show it to him tonight. So should I refrigerate the napkin or let it start to go rancid:eek::D |

I forgot to add she seems OK, but I did not give her a treat this morning after potty, I distracted her with a rousing game of fetch. As much as this girl loves treats she loves her toys more. Thanks for your stories it's always nice to know one is not along raising our precious pups |
The rule at my house "if it did not come from Mom's hand then it doesnt go in the dog". About 10yrs ago my husband had done briskets on the smoker, one of our poodles got UNDER the smoker after sundown and ate some of the drippings. He had only been in the yard 10min,so it wasnt much. Within an hour the lil guy was almost dead from his pancreous shutting down. My husband rushed me,dog and daughter that dog belonged to, to the ER vet. He almost passed out when I told him it would be $1000 and 3 days in the hospital. We did not have the $$ at the time,it was shortly after purchasing Christmas for 6 kids and the rest of the family. The shocked look on his face went away when I told him that HE could explain to his daughter that we could not save her baby and he dug the funds up. Now there is a pan under the smoker,Ive seen him wipe the ground around the pan just to make sure. He watches our house guests to make sure that they dont give anything to the dogs. I am so glad that your baby is ok. Personally I would of flipped the light on and woke the guy up,especially if I wasnt sleeping because someone else caused me worry. Thats just me. |
As the owner of one myself, I must say that sometimes husbands must think the only reason they have a head is for a hat rack. Thank God your baby threw it up. Sometimes men can be so stupid! Louise |

Well I told my husband on the phone about how upset I was and what it could have done to Lola and it went well, I don't think it will happen again, LOL I bent overbackwards trying to nicely explain it to him, "bla bla, I know how much Lola means to you, bla bla I know you would not want to hurt her, this is what could happen, bla bla, don't do this again, bla bla yes honey Lola and I love you.....bla bla". But on the inside I was screaming YOU STUPID &SS &O%E, Don't EVER do this again, or your A@S will be sleeping in the %$*KI$G garage:D |
